Episcopal Schools Sunday is October 8th
To celebrate National Episcopal Schools Week, the Rev. Ann
 Ritonia, Rector of St. John's Church, has invited Dr. Chip Prehn to preach at 9:00 am and 11:30 am and to lead the Sunday morning adult class in between the services
(10:30 am).
Dr. Prehn will offer a short course on the history of Episcopal Schools in the United States. He will also speak to the matter of faith-based schools in general and how high-quality independent schools such as St. John's Parish Day School are an essential part of the Mission of God's Church in the world. For more information, please contact either the Parish or School office.

It's time again. The SJPDS PA is collecting Box Tops to earn cash
 for our school.
EC and LC students who bring Box Tops to school are eligible to win prizes generously donated by local restaurants and businesses.
Download a collection sheet, pick one up in the lobby or send them in a resealable bag. Those with your child's name and grade will be eligible to win a prize if submitted by
September 29, 2017.
Box Tops envelopes will be outside each classroom and in the lobby on Friday.
Used Uniform Sale
The Parents' Association with hold a used uniform sale on tomorrow,
 September 22nd (noon dismissal day). The sale will take place on the terrace level from 11:30am-12:30pm. This will be the ONLY used uniform sale this Fall, so if you need any uniform items for the Winter months, please stop by or send a friend to purchase items for you. The next sale will not be until sometime after Winter Break. Cash, Check, and Credit will be accepted.

Annual Fund
Mr. Andrew Genz and Dr. Anne Stengl will serve as the Parent Co-Chairs of the Annual Fund. They are the parents of Zoe and Jasper. Parents, Alumni, and Friends of SJPDS will soon hear more about the Annual Fund.

Thank you families for your patience as we worked our way through the beginning of our new school year and for taking the time to learn the routines of the morning drop-off line. When school first resumes in the fall, the drop-off line is a learning curve for both parents and children.
Please take note of a few safety reminders to keep things moving
 smoothly:
- Keep children in their car seats and buckled whenever the car is moving.
- Please avoid parking in the spots across from the E.C. Parking Lot from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, as it causes a back-up for carline. Please take a moment to see the traffic map.
- Please open doors on the right side of the vehicle for the drop off line.
- Obey all traffic and parking signs on the campus. Be especially aware of the STOP sign near the upper playground crosswalk as you enter campus.
- Please do not remove any parking cones or signage as these are there for the safety of our students.
- Please refrain from cell phone use while driving.
- For families who walk their children into school, please park in designated spaces and enter through the main entrance near the flagpole.

Please join us on September 26th at 2:00 pm in the Auditorium for a very special Concert.
SJPDS and St. John's Episcopal Church are hosting the Les Petits Chanteurs, a boys choir from Holy Trinity Music School in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The boys along with members of the Chamber Ensemble from Holy Trinity will perform a sneak peek of their evening performance.
The boys will share lunch with our 4th and 5th graders, visit some of our classrooms and join LS students for Chapel in the Historic Church.
We also invite you to join the greater St. John's community for the evening performance at 7:00 pm in the Historic Church.
St. John's Blessing of the Animals
Sunday, October 1st; 1:30pm on Rose Hill Field
Bring your pet to be blessed at this outside worship. The service begins at 1:30 pm on the Rose Hill field. St. John's Rite-13 youth group (7th and 8th graders) will host this event. Donations of gift cards to pet stores, dog/cat food, old towels in good condition and treats will be collected. All donations will go to local Animal Charities. Pets will receive a special certificate once they are blessed. We ask that all pets be on a leash or in a crate/cage. Click here for details.

Put this great shopping event on your calendar! Mistletoe Village is a holiday gift boutique here at St. John's on Sunday, October 29th from 1:30 - 5:30. Mistletoe Village is the perfect way to start your holiday shopping by supporting local small businesses offering a large variety of items including clothing, art, jewelry, women's accessories, home decor, children's items, specialty foods, beauty items, and much more.
