Rabbi Perlmeter will interweave experiential teachings with our Erev Shabbat Service. Come prepared to “push the envelope” a bit as we begin to explore with him new paths for connecting our prayers to a sense of the Divine Presence.
Saturday, Nov. 5
10 a.m. Library Minyan & Torah Study with Rabbi Perlmeter Chant and Meditation Service
Join us as Rabbi Kellner and Rabbi Perlmeter guide us with song, commentary and other forms of worship which connect our Shabbat practices, our bodies and our spirits in Oneness. At approximately 11 a.m., Rabbi Perlmeter will lead us in consideration of the weekly Torah portion, Noach, framed by the deep spiritual insights available to us through the teachings of early Chasidic teachers. A light lunch will follow. Please RSVP by using the link below or by calling the office at 614-885-6286.
4:30 - 6 p.m. “Moving Mindfully into Mussar” (nosh at 4:15 p.m.)
As we prepare for our focus this year on the practice of Mussar, Rabbi Perlmeter will guide us in a consideration of how the Mindfulness teachings and practice in which he will engage with us can enhance Mussar work. Mussar is the Jewish tradition of intentional study and active cultivation of positive traits of the soul. We will prepare for a different way of being and listening in community, as we experience the link between the work of this special weekend, and core Mussar traits, including Silence and Humility. For those contemplating participating in this year’s "Finding Meaning through Musar" class with Rabbi Kellner, this session will be a helpful introduction and preparation for our important work.
Sunday, Nov. 6
10 a.m. “Torah of Loss and Renewal–Staying Connected When Living and Loving Hurt” (nosh at 9:45 a.m.)
Rabbi Perlmeter will share how the teachings and practices of Jewish mourning can help us move through the darkness of grief back toward light.
