As whole cone hops are processed into pellets, a small amount of lupulin collects on the screens as they pass through toward the pellet die. Previously lost in production, industry leaders are now realizing its value and we now have deliciously dank hop hash. Hop hash is recommended as a late whirlpool addition, just before knock out to fully capture the hop aromatics.

5th Annual Fermentation Festival

Bring samples of your favorite homemade wine, beer, cider or mead to enter and share. You get to be the judge and vote for your favorites. Contest winners will be awarded  GREAT PRIZES for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. Plus, a chance to win  DOOR PRIZES just for coming out!   Lots of FUN, FOOD and FRIENDS!

Popularity Contest - Entries  will be judged by the festival attendees.  There are no style guidelines, anything goes!  Judges are asked to sample and vote for their favorite beers and wines.
  
Free to Enter and Win Great Prizes - There is no charge to enter a homebrewed beer or homemade wine into the competition.  Entries will be split into two categories - Beer and Wines.  Ciders and Meads will be grouped with the wines. All votes will be counted and the top three vote earners in each category will win Great Prizes!

How Much Should I Bring?   - You should plan on bringing at least a 6-pack or equivalent so that  many people can have small samples of your brew. Winemakers should plan on bringing 1 - 2 750ml bottles or equivalent for samples. Please label each entry clearly with it's name.  Feel free to put a brief description on the bottle if you feel it would help you get more votes. 

When and Where is this fun event?   The Fermentation Festival is held Saturday, November 5th at The Home Brewery  - 1967 W Boat St. in Ozark Missouri.
The event starts at 3:00pm.  Entries will be checked in and prepared for judging.
Judging starts at 3:30pm.  Voting is over at 6:00pm and  the votes are tallied .
At 6:30 the prizes are awarded and at 7pm we call it a night.

The Home Brewery Classes


Friday, January 6th, 2017      6 pm - 9 pm
Introduction To Homebrewing - $15 per person
This class will introduce  you to the equipment and ingredients needed to brew beer using the extract method of brewing. Topics will include Fermentation, Homebrewing Equipment, Techniques and Procedures, Bottling and more.  You will get to see the process from beginning to end and have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers from an experienced Homebrewer.  Approximately 3 hour class.  Light snacks and refreshments will be available.
 
Saturday, January 7th, 2017     12 noon - 3 pm
Introduction to Winemaking - $15 per person
Learn how easy it is to make 
great wine at home. This class will focus mainly on how to make wine from Wine Kits, canned fruit and juice concentrates. We will be covering equipment, sanitation, ingredients, fermentation, bottling, procedures, techniques and plenty of good, practical advice from an experienced winemaker!  Hands on demonstration lets you see the process from beginning to end while the small, informal class setting ensures you get all your questions answered.  This is the perfect class for beginner wine makers.  Approximately 3 hour class.  Light snacks and refreshments will be available.
