THIS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, ASCENSION WELCOMES BISHOP BRUCE CALDWELL,
who will preach and celebrate at both the 8:00 and 10:30 services. Bishop Caldwell will also join us for breakfast, and be available for conversation at the Preacher’s Forum and Coffee Hour. On the occasion of the Bishop’s visit, today’s undesignated plate offering will benefit the Bishop’s Discretionary Fund.

Also on Sunday, September 24, we will welcome
Quinton Reese Hosley into our faith community by Baptism; he is the son of Lukas Myers Hosley and Suzanne Catherine Hosley. And, we give thanks for this special day in the lives of Katherine Mueller and Scott & Kathy Kimbel, who will be Received, and Jennifer Lee and Lacy Wallace, who will be Confirmed.
Parish members and guests are cordially invited to a special Coffee Hour reception, hosted by our young adults (CAYA) in honor of Bishop Caldwell and our newest members.

Most of you know that our own Geoff Pinkerton is fighting cancer. Ian’s Cub Scout pack is having a fundraiser dinner featuring bean/vegetable soup on

at Highland Christian Church, 265 Versailles Road at Lyons Drive in Frankfort. All you can eat for $5.00! Benefits will help the family with extra expenses during this difficult time.

CAYA (Church of the Ascension Young Adults)
- Semi-monthly meetings are held on the second and fourth Sundays of each month - upcoming:: 9/24, 10/8 and 10/22, 11/12 and 11/26, and 12/10. Gather in the library during Coffee Hour (after the 10:30 service ends). All teens and young adults are welcome!
