Register Now for the Apple Harvest Day 5K Road Race
The
Apple Harvest Day 5K Road Race, underwritten by
Seacoast Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, kicks off the Seacoast's premier autumn street festival on Saturday, October 7th. The 5K Road Race starts on River Street and ends on Washington Street in downtown Dover. The USTAF certified course runs directly through the Apple Harvest Day festival site on Washington Street and Central Avenue, and then winds through historic Dover on a rolling course that is suitable for beginner runners and walkers, as well as advanced racers.

The Strafford Regional Planning Commission in conjunction with the Dover City Planning Department and Stratham representative to the Coastal Risks and Hazards Commission, Roger Stephenson, are bringing the film to Dover. Watch the trailer here.
On Monday, September 25th, at 6:30 p.m., the documentary will be shown at the Dover High School. The film explores how the military and all the surrounding municipalities are working towards solutions in the name of strengthening national security & enhancing economic prosperity. The movie will be followed by a panel addressing how Great Bay communities are preparing for increased precipitation and future flooding. The panel will feature SRPC Principal Planner Kyle Pimental, along with Stratham representative to the Coastal Risk and Hazards Commission Roger Stephenson, and other Coastal Adaptation Workgroup (CAW) members.

3rd Annual Unleashed: On the Catwalk with CVHS

Tickets are now on sale for Cocheco Valley Humane Society's 3rd Annual Unleashed Fashion Show and Silent Auction. Fashions are from Boutique Leslie, LuLaRoe by Aimee Dion, Nicole's Hallmark, Red's Shoe Barn and Tuxedos and Suits With Style. Some of the models will be featuring jewelry from Jewelry Creations. The models will be accompanied by four legged dog models some of whom are CVHS alumni. Tickets are $50 each and are available by calling 603-749-5322 ext. 112.
Proceeds from the event will support the basic medical needs of the 1,500 animals that come through our doors annually. Medical costs exceed $130,000 annually. This includes basic medical care such as vaccinations including rabies shots, preventative heartworm and flea and tick treatments and spaying and neutering that give these animals a second chance and the opportunity to find a loving forever home.

New England Sings is a vocal competition sponsored by Inspired Nation for anyone between the ages of 12 to 21 who resides in New England. Inspired Nation was founded by Kara DioGuardi, former American Idol judge. Kara wanted to find a way to provide a platform for young people to express themselves, follow their dreams, and give back to their communities.

Pine Hill Cemetery Chapel
The tour will cover information about the early settlement of Dover in 1623, as well as Dover's progress to becoming a major commercial center in the 19th Century. The
tour will take about ninety minutes and the guide is prepared to conduct the tour rain or shine, so if it IS raining bring an umbrella and wear appropriate footwear since you will be walking on some grassy areas.
The tour guide will share historical information on some two dozen stones and providing a background on the history of grave stones from the 1700's to the present.
Of particular interest will be a narrative that may possibly put to rest a question as to the final resting place of Christine Otis Baker, a kidnap victim during the 'Dover Massacre' of 1789.

These popular drop-in early learning programs have returned this Fall to CMNH! Wee Ones Wednesdays is a a program for children ages 2-4 and has been designed as a PRE pre-school. Children and a parent or caregiver enjoy art, music, movement conceptual learning with a new theme each week. Sessions are offered

. The coast per adult/child par is $7 for Museum members and $10 for Non-members. Additional children in a family are $5 each for Members and $8 each for Non-members.
