Expressive Clay: Two Approaches features works from two diverse, expressive ceramicists, Dick Lehman and Amy Sanders:
Sept 8 - Oct 14. Dick Lehman is a renowned ceramic artist from Goshen, Indiana. He may be best known for his enhancements of three firing techniques: long-wood-firing, side-fire, and saggar-fire. Amy Sanders creates delightful earthenware handbuilt vessels demonstrating a luscious balance of texture, rhythm, and pattern within their visually soft utilitarian forms.

The Topography Series: Wearable Indiana Jewelry by Lisa Walsh Copper enamel jewelry is inspired by topographic maps of Indiana.

Chancel Players present a stage adaptation of Oscar Wilde's story,
The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Merlin Holland & John O'Connor.
First Baptist Church, 411 N 7th St, Lafayette, hosts the show: Fri-Sat
Oct. 27-28. Cost $10
The young Dorian Gray becomes infatuated by a beautiful portrait of himself and makes a Faustian pact - the picture will grow old while he remains forever young. Wilde's novel and this adaptation examine themes of youth and decay, innocence and corruption, art and reality.

Oct. 14 Indianapolis duo, The Half Step Sisters consists of Katie Burk & Julia Conway. These ladies highlight many vocal styles & harmonies with Katie on fiddle & Julia on double bass;they developed their own take on the folk & acoustic roots music they both love.
Oct. 28 Fiddler, singer & stepdancer, April Verch was raised on living, breathing roots music & delivers an energy like no other. "Just as contemporary bluegrass has Alison Krauss as an ambassador, the Ottawa Valley has April Verch," said NPR's Marco Werman on "The World".

This intimate writing conference, hosted by the Lafayette Writers' Studio, at MatchBOX, features a keynote and workshop by acclaimed author Barbara Shoup, novelist and prose writers Sarah Layden and Melissa Fraterrigo, and poets Lauren Mallett and Kaveh Akbar. In addition to Shoup's workshop, you may attend breakout sessions designed to help you learn more about craft, generate new work, and explore yourself and your writing. All sessions will be generative , so you will leave with the start of several pieces of new work. Ticket includes lunch.

Long-time SAMI member, Joe Peters, celebrates the release of his 9th CD of original music with guitar legend Michael Kelsey on Saturday, October 28th with a concert at 7pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 333 Meridian Street, West Lafayette. The album, entitled Prophetstown by the joedai warriors, is "a carefully woven tapestry [of] soulful threads blending to yield an overall marvelous depiction of humanity's imperfections and failures."

The Fall Harvest Artisan Crafts & Antiques Show will be held at Carnahan Hall,

About the Tippecanoe Arts Federation
The Tippecanoe Arts Federation is the umbrella organization and arts council for 14 counties. TAF provides educational opportunities in the visual, performing, and literary arts, outreach programs for both underserved and at-risk youth, and funding for capital and operational expenses to fellow arts organizations region wide.
