Women battling the stigma of HIV+
Valerie Earnshaw, assistant professor and CEHD Faculty Scholar, has been invited to join the Stigma and Discrimination Expert Consultation hosted by the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)PEPFAR is working to develop a strategic framework that better addresses the complexity and dimensions of HIV stigma and discrimination.  

In September, Earnshaw and her colleagues published a report investigating the complex relationships between housing insecurity, HIV-related stigma, racial discrimination, and well-being of Caribbean women in Canada. Read More

Getting research into schools
Researchers at the Center for Research Use in Education (CRUE) recognize that education research isn't always disseminated in a format that schools can implement. 

Funded by a $5 million grant through the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), CRUE seeks to understand the nature and depth of research use in schools, identify the factors that hinder research use, and develop strategies to promote its implemention in the classroom.  Read More
Accredited for top quality childcare
UD's Early Learning Center, located on CEHD's Children's Campus, provides high quality childcare for over 200 children in the community, while offering a living laboratory for students and faculty across the university. 

In September the ELC was reaccredited by the NAEYC, receiving or exceeding 100% scores on all 10 program standards. Fewer than 10% of all childcare programs are accreditated by the NAEYC.  Read More
