Fall Harvest for Kids -- Benefiting Drake Head Start Preschool

For over 20 years, Westminster Presbyterian Women have supported Drake University Head Start. This school-readiness program is the largest Head Start grantee in the state of Iowa and one of only a few university-based Head Start programs in the nation.

We provide many of their 3-and 4-year-old preschool children with mittens, scarves and hats each fall. In addition to outerwear, other items in constant need are socks, underwear and sweatpants

Monetary donations are also appreciated. Please look for the harvest displays and donation baskets at the Franklin and Allison entrances. Final collection will be Tuesday, November 14. Thanks in advance for your generosity!

"Salvation - Heaven and Hell"

This study is part of the "Faith Questions" series offered by the PC(USA). It is intended to help us explore  the questions: "What Happens When You Die?" "What Is Heaven Like?" "What Is Hell Like?" and "How Can I Get Into Heaven and Stay Out of Hell?" Faith Questions studies are based on faith questions posed by youth. Each session encourages us to look to Scripture, and our faith tradition, in relevant and responsive ways.

Come to every session or drop in when you can. We offer lively, thoughtful, discussion and a chance to ask your own questions. Classes will begin at 9:00 a.m. in Westminster Hall and is hosted by Jack Ratekin.

It will be Monday to Friday, October 16-20. There will be morning shifts from  8:00 a.m.to noon   and afternoon shifts from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The build will be in the Des Moines area. JOPPA plans to build over 30 homes in total that week.

"One day off work for you, a future off the streets for someone who is homeless today."
