Heroes Among Us:
Cherie and Harvey Schonbrun

Cherie and Harvey Schonbrun first learned about the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay at a special event held at the home of Marie and Allan Martin in 2012. The Schonbruns were so impressed they made a $10,000 donation that evening.

Following the event, they took a Crisis Center tour and were deeply moved by what they learned. They witnessed intervention specialists answering crisis calls in 2-1-1. They walked through Sexual Assault Services. They saw where children receive counseling in the Corbett Trauma Center.

They knew they had made the right decision to invest in the Crisis Center and decided to do even more. They made a five-year pledge as members of the Sustainer Society.

In February, they paid forward the 2012 invitation they received to the Martins' home by hosting a special event in their own home, to which they invited their friends to learn about the work of the Crisis Center.

Cherie and Harvey support the Crisis Center because they know there are thousands of people in our community who are hurting and in need of someone to help them through their crisis. They know people of any income level can find themselves facing a crisis. And they are grateful the Crisis Center offers help 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
