Blessing of the Animals
In October and early November, many churches celebrate the feast of St. Francis, who reminds us that God's Creation includes more than human kind, with a blessing of our companion animals. If your congregation had a blessing or celebration of pets, please send photos to [email protected].
King of Glory, Newbury Park held their third annual Blessing of the
Animals
on Saturday, October 1.
Dogs were blessed, along with photographs of cats and stuffed animals. Pastor Steve Simpson led a brief service, and many "beasts" sampled dog and people treats afterwards.
Mt. Olive, Santa Monica held the Blessing of the Animals at all three worship services on October 1 and 2 - nine dogs and many photos of pets and stuffed animals were blessed.
Ascension, Thousand Oaks
welcomed all pets and their people on October 2!
St Paul's, Rancho Palos Verdes
welcomed all animals on October 2!
