Military flight teams to visit area students

STUART, FL (November 1, 2016) -- Military flight teams won't just be flying jets during the Stuart Air Show this weekend, they will be speaking with area students in advance about aviation, parachuting, and the demonstrations they will be performing all weekend at the Stuart Air Show.

On Thursday, November 3 at 1 p.m., members of the US Navy F18 Super Hornet Demonstration Team will visit the Clark Advance Learning Center at Indian River State College Chastain Campus, located at 2400 SE Salerno Road in Stuart. A national model school, the Clark Advanced Learning Center is a public charter high school offering academic and technology programs, accelerated curriculum, and college readiness. Super Hornet pilots and maintainers will speak to students about real world applications of aerospace engineering, Navy careers, and the flight demonstrations that the F-18 Tac Demo Team will perform at the air show. 

On Friday, November 4, members of the US Air Force F-16 Viper Demo Team will visit the Stem Center (JD Parker Elementary), located at 1010 SE 10 th Street in Stuart at 9 a.m. to speak with the students in grades 3 through 6 of the STEM program about real world applications of aerospace engineering, Air Force careers, and the flight demonstrations the F-16 'Fighting Falcon'.

Also on Friday, November 4, the US Navy F18, US Air Force F16, and US Navy Leap Frogs will speak to a group of students at the Blake Library, located at 2351 SE Monterey Road in Stuart at 3:30 p.m.

The US Navy F18, US Air Force F16, and US Navy Leap Frogs will perform at the Stuart Air Show held at the Martin County Airport, Witham Field, on Friday night (November 4) and Saturday and Sunday (November 5 and November 6).

Pre-sale tickets are available from $5 for veterans/military (military ID required) and children 6-12 (5 and under free), $15 for children 13+ and adults. Tickets at the gate will be $25 (age 13+) and $5 for veterans/military (military ID required).
