Hearing the Shema, by Cantor Sobel
For TBC Parents and Members, This Sunday, October 30, 10:30 am
Hearing the Shema - an introduction to and exploration of the Shema as the opening to 1,000 Prayers.
This class will engage with the text of the Shema - just 6 words - with the intention of deepening, enriching, and expanding our connection with this central Jewish prayer.
Cantor Sobel will lead this engaging class for TBC parents and all other interested TBC members.
No prior knowledge of Hebrew or level of experience with Jewish prayers is required.
Let's enjoy learning together for a more fulfilling prayer experience and connection with our children, our tradition and our deepest selves. See you at TBC on Sunday, October 30th

Volunteers Needed for Sukkah Take-Down - This Sunday, October 30
The Men's Club will be leading up the taking down of the Sukkah
this Sunday, October 30, at 9:30 am. All are welcome to come and help us put it away for the year.

Thanks to all who Participated/Supported the 'Stop Hunger Now' Event!
Last Saturday approximately 700 member of the community and about 80 TBCer's came together to package a record
167,000 meals to feed children who otherwise would not have a nutritious meal. As in past events, it was fun for the whole family from 5 year olds t
o grandparents. There is still time to provide financial support to help fund these meals. You may do so by clicking here and using the Tzedakah form, or contact Don Weber at mdweb27@me.com.

Fighting BDS in Congress and on Campus, Tuesday, November 1, 7:30 pm
An important evening happening in at the Conservative Synagogue of Westport, Tuesday evening, November 1 at 7:30. Along with 14 other synagogues in Fairfield County, there will be a panel of speakers who will deal with combating BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions against Israel) on campuses and in Congress. There are many wonderful volunteering opportunities including one-to-one visits, writing letters, transporting residents to activities, and hospice care.  Social Action Volunteers Needed!
TBC Social Action Committee. The TBC Social Action Committee has many local ways for you to help others, from pitching in at a soup kitchen to preparing dinner at an emergency shelter. New opportunities, dates, and times are posted to the TBC website, so please take a look and see where you can help.
Other Community Opportunities. There are also other ways to get involved in our communities. You can serve as a foster family, deliver food to those in need, and/or host a high school child in the ABC program.
