November 2016 - In This Issue:
President's Message

Wow how this year has flown by!  I can't believe I am writing this for the November newsletter already.   The last two weekends have been beautiful; the trees are finally changing and are gorgeous, we drove to the KSU game for Homecoming and enjoyed a wonderful day and a win!  We also hit the Chiefs game last Sunday for another win!   I also got started on my Christmas shopping at the Holiday Mart! I hope you are also enjoying the weather and change of seasons!

November brings a couple of fun events!  The final membership luncheon for the year will be held on November 8th - go vote and then stop by the Employment Law Acronym Update - always a highlight.  Our Young Professionals will be getting together for a happy hour on the 17th and all members are invited to attend.  Visit our website at www.shrm-kc.org for more information and to register!

On October 18th, we hosted another successful full day SHRM-KC Conference - thanks to all who participated!  The speaker line up, business partners and attendees were outstanding and enjoyed a great day together!   If you haven't started your application for When Work Works - check out the information in this newsletter - you will get some great information on flexible workplace best practices, and might even be a winner!

I only have one more month serving as your President... this year has really flown by - we started the year as a Large Chapter - less than 500 members and now are a MEGA chapter and more than 500 members strong.   Don't forget - for every member who joins SHRM-KC that you refer - you receive a $25 gift card! Let's all work to recruit one new member before the end of the year!

I am so proud of our Chapter and everything we have going on! I hope to see you before the end of the year!

SHRM Membership Recruitment Campaign
Refer a friend or colleague!
Research shows that word of mouth and personal referrals are the best way for association groups such as SHRM-KC to reach potential new members. As part of our ongoing efforts to promote the HR profession in the Kansas City area, we want to encourage our members to share the benefits of SHRM-KC membership with your colleagues. To promote membership referrals, we are providing the following incentive:
For any new member that you refer who joins our chapter, you will earn a $25 Visa gift card!

There is no cap on the number of incentives you can earn, so the rewards are unlimited! In order for the referral to be credited correctly to you, the new member must list you as the referral source when they complete their membership application.
