The Envision Shooks Run study focuses on one of the more important stream corridors in the central part of the City of Colorado Springs. The study area encompasses two boundaries: the Community Planning and Transportation System Area boundary (noted in blue in the map above) and the Infrastructure Planning Boundary (noted in red in the map above). The project area is generally located to the  east of Downtown Colorado Springs, between the Patty Jewett Golf Course area to the north and the Fountain Creek corridor to the south. It encompasses the southeastern quadrant of the Legacy Loop trail.

Missed Public Workshop #5?

Approximately 100 citizens attended and participated in the Envision Shooks Run Public Workshop #5 September 27 held at First Presbyterian Church. The project team presented a detailed overview of the process to date and details of the draft Facilities Master Plan, a document defining how best to compliment the "Transformative Theme" corridor vision with specific alternatives.
What Are People Saying
Public Meeting #5

I think improving the Urban Canyon and Urban Waterway could bring more business and people downtown. I am concerned about the homeless making a mess in the improvements.

This was my first meeting and I am relatively new to this part of town, but I appreciate how the community is engaged and feedback is asked for.

I would like to see more volunteer activities to shorten the time frame.

Some properties are owned privately (they own it and are responsible to maintain it). The City owns some properties, some are owned by the School District and developers may help with other areas. All of those make a difference in how each of the various properties will be considered within the plan.

Love the proposed new bike/pedestrian crossings between downtown Pikes Peak and Cucharras. It will make it easier and safer to get from our neighborhood to the Pioneer Museum area and the farmer's market.

Legacy Loop is a much-needed trail away from traffic. Currently not safe / useable.
