August is a busy month. Summer vacations are coming to an end, the school year starts and it's the beginning of football season - go Noles!!

This is also the time of the year when cruise and tour companies are finalizing their travel offers for 2015 and early 2016. We watch for trends and products that we believe would appeal to our customer base. We then place a deposit on the ones that offer the best deal for you, our valued client.

In this issue of our newsletter we are including a new feature, Where in the world have you been? The purpose for this feature is to create a community of our clients and to encourage you to share your travel experiences and insights for the benefit of all. If you would like to participate, please send your travel experiences along with photos (preferably with you in them) to [email protected].

Where We Have Been
Phil and Carol Swartz to Alaska:
On this trip we'll spend almost three weeks in Alaska hosting a couple of different groups. We'll visit some great places, eat some great seafood, and have a great time with friends - both old and new.

One of the groups is a fundraising event to benefit the Diane Andrews Christian Football Scholarship Fund. We are proud to announce that this event raised approximately $25,000. In the two years that we have hosted this trip we have raised $50,000+. This scholarship endowment is administered by the Seminole Boosters.

We are planning a European river cruise for 2016 to benefit the Diane Andrews Christian Football Scholarship Fund. If you would like to join us, please watch for an announcement in our September newsletter or call Lenny Kopple at 850-386-7327 ex 207.

St. Petersburg, Russia, and the Baltic States Cruise:
In early June, Karen and Frank Skilling traveled with several
friends and acquaintances to Stockholm, Sweden to embark on an 11 day cruise with Tauck World Discovery. They initially toured Stockholm and visited the Wassa Museum for a private after-hours dinner at the site of a 300-year-old ship that was raised from the harbor. There were also motor coach tours to the famous City Hall where the Nobel Prizes are awarded each December and a stop at the Drottningholm Palace, the primary residence of the royal family.   Read More

Our Travel Consultant, Chynell Jefferson celebrated in New Orleans during the 4th of July weekend at the Essence Music Festival July 2-6, 2015. The Big Easy was immersed with great entertainment, local activities, celebrity sightings, incredible food, and striking display of fireworks over the Mississippi River topped off the weekend. Chynell is looking forward to this annual trek for Independence Day.

Where Have YOU Been
Doug and Marcia tour the Canadian Rockies with Trafalgar...
This was taken from a letter from Doug and Marcia sent to Chynell Jefferson:

Hi Chynell, thought we would touch base about our Canadian Rockies tour.  The early or pre days in Calgary were well worth it. The hotel is right downtown and is a very nice city to walk around and had good restaurants.  We went to Chinatown one night and had authentic Chinese food.

The tour had a good mix from the USA, Australia, New Zeal  and and a couple of more places.  Interestingly, we were the only ones from the south, most from the States were from up North or out West.

A few thoughts about the tour and Trafalgar.  The welcome reception was very nice, good food and free drinks, one couple who had been on other tours with different companies told us that this was the best reception they had attended on a tour. The tour director was very professional, knowledgeable  and added  a few videos, snacks, and other  things to help break up the day on the bus rides.  We thought one nice idea was that you could buy bottles of water from the driver for only a dollar.  Very reasonable and nice to be able to get cold water at any stop.  We also thought the pacing and stops were just right, never went too long without a break.    Read More
