New South Bay Villas Application Event

The Palm Beach County Housing Authority and Royal American Management will be accepting applications for New South Bay Villas apartment homes at the location listed below. The application process is to establish a community-specific waiting list with the Palm Beach County Housing Authority at New South Bay Villas. All eligible households will receive the benefits of Project-Based Housing Vouchers. We will be accepting applications for one, two, and three bedroom apartments and water, sewer, and waste removal is included in the rent. Contact our office if you need any reasonable accommodation throughout the application process.

Community Health and Awareness Event at the Loading Ramp

Triple -H- Community Center and Glades Central Class of 1972 are working to host a Health and Awareness event for all ages. The event will be free and a fun way to bring prevention
knowledge to the attention of our community residents; including a combination of activities, speakers, refreshments, incentives, entertainment, testing, wellness checks and a multitude of informational resources. Free HIV testing, food and entertainment, $1 yard sale, Walmart gift card raffle, and more. Local agencies are invited to participate.

The Salvation Army of Palm Beach County Angel Tree Program

The Salvation Army Angel Tree program is not a government funded program. The Salvation Army Angel Tree is a needs based program meant to serve the neediest families with small children during the Christmas season. Families who struggle month to month, have recently lost work or who are undergoing an emergency need of some kind can get help through our program. Parents may register their children ages newborn to 12 years old during the registration day and locations listed above. The toys that are provided to the families that register are not purchased by The Salvation Army; they are provided by generous people in the community who actually go shopping for the children ("angels") that have registered for The Angel Tree.

Palm Beach Refugee Task Force Meeting

The Palm Beach County Refugee Task Force has been active in the Palm Beach County area for many years, with participants representing governmental and private agencies providing services to refugees in the area. Services provided by the agencies include employment, English language and vocational training, youth and family services, child care, employment-related immigration services, and refugee health services. The purpose of the meetings is to discuss refugee program service needs and possible solutions.

Legislative Delegation Public Hearing and Workshop Schedule

Jessie Levi Memorial Scholarship for Glades Health Students

The scholarship is awarded by Heka Healthcare Consulting, LLC to undergraduate, minority college students from the Glades area. One recipient will be selected to receive a $250 stipend to help offset the cost of books and tuition.

8th Annual Girls Leadership Institute & STEAM Academy Comes to Belle Glade

The Women's Foundation of Florida (WFF) is excited to host our 8th Annual Girls Leadership Institute & STEAM Academy (GLI/STEM) twice in 2017 with the support of a grant from the Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County. The free and interactive programs provide training and support for underserved girls in PBC. The program is aimed at developing middle and high school girls' leadership skills and passion in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). We will provide this program for 100 girls and their parents in the Glades community with your help. The WFPBC is looking for companies in STEAM fields and other community partners to participate in the September 16th program.

Birdies for Children Registration Open

Introduced at The Honda Classic in 2010, the Birdies for Children program serves to help 501(c)3 organizations generate additional fundraising dollars through an exciting contest that culminates with a grand prize winner driving home in a brand new 2018 Honda! Eight years into the campaign, Birdies for Children has risen just over of $6 million for charity; distributing funds to over 120 local and national organizations.  Details for the 2018 BFC season; are currently active and online ready to start taking pledges.
