PTO LUNCH PROGRAM
The Discovery PTO Lunch Program will offer two pizza lunch dates on select Fridays per month and one Moe's Monday lunch per month. This is a voluntary service that you must sign-up for if you would like for your child to participate. The pizza lunch program is only available to students who stay on campus for lunch, i.e. full day students or lunch option students. The first pizza date is September 1 and the first Moe's date is September 25.
The Toddlers start their day by arriving between 8:30 - 8:40am and are dismissed from 11:20 - 11:30 am for half day, 12:20 - 12:30pm for lunch, and 2:45 - 3:00pm for full day students. Please park near the Toddler classrooms and walk your child to the classroom gate where a teacher will greet you for arrival and dismissal. Please do not park directly in front of the Toddler gates.
Primary & Kindergarten Program:
Primary and Kindergarten students arrive on campus between 8:30 - 8:40am. Parents are asked to drive through the car line for your child's classroom. Please stay in your car in order to keep the car line moving, a teacher will come to the car to greet your child.
Primary 2 and Primary 3 - you are going to drive west on Shetter Avenue, turn around in the cul-de-sac to make a right turn into the second driveway, the Primary driveway. We recommend having your child sit on the right side of your vehicle (the passenger side) if possible, in order to safely remove them from the vehicle.
Primary 1 - you will drive south on 15th street and take a right turn into the main entrance driveway. You will follow the car line around and stop in front the Primary gate for arrival and in front of building 4 for full day dismissal. Please pull as close as you can to the sidewalk to leave space for passing cars. We recommend having your child sit on the left side of your vehicle (the driver side) if possible, in order to safely remove them from the vehicle.
You will need to get out of your car to secure your child in his/her carseat/booster seat. Dismissal for Primary students is 12:30 - 12:40pm for half day and 2:50 - 3:00pm for Kindergarten and full day students. Please do NOT block 15th Street or Shetter Avenue during arrival or dismissal.
Lower Elementary Program:
Students in the Lower Elementary program arrive on campus between 8:00 - 8:10am and are dismissed between 3:10 - 3:20pm. Please do not arrive before 3:10pm as we have staggered dismissal times to keep the flow of traffic. The Lower Elementary 1 & 2 driveway is located off of Shetter Avenue, you are going to drive west on Shetter, turn around in the cul-de-sac to make a right turn into the first driveway. Lower Elementary 3 arrival and dismissal is located in the front of Building 4. Teachers and Safety Patrol members will be waiting in the driveways during this arrival time. Please stay in your car in order to keep the car line moving, a teacher will come to the car to greet your child. Dismissal will take place in the same location. Please do NOT block 15th Street or Shetter Avenue during arrival or dismissal.
Upper Elementary Program:
Students in the Upper Elementary program arrive on campus between 8:00 - 8:10am and are dismissed between 3:10 - 3:20pm. Please do not arrive before 3:10pm as we have staggered dismissal times to keep the flow of traffic. The students will be dropped off at the main entrance of the front building (building 4). Teachers will be outside to greet the students as they arrive. Dismissal will take place at the same location. Please pull as close as you can to the sidewalk to leave space for passing cars.
Siblings: If you have more than one child at Discovery, the older child(ren) will be escorted to the younger child's classroom/car line for dismissal. Please be aware that if you have an elementary student, they will not be escorted to the younger child's classroom until their dismissal time at 3:10pm.
Precare & Aftercare Program:
If you child is attending Precare, drop-off will be at the main entrance of Building 4. The Aftercare Program is held in the Flex Space/Library in Building 4. Dismissal for aftercare students will be at the main entrance of Building 4, you will have to enter the building to pick up your child.
Late Arrivals/Early Dismissal:
If you are arriving late to school, please report to the Administration Office to sign your child in and then we will escort them to class. (Primary - Elementary only) If you are checking your child out early, please report to the Administration Office to sign them out for the day.
AFTER SCHOOL ADVENTURES
Discovery's After School Adventures Program provides students with an opportunity to attend a variety of after school enrichment programs for all ages. Registration is now open for the 2017-2018 school year!
