This season the Baltimore Orioles are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Oriole Park at Camden Yards! To celebrate, we thought it would be fun to share our favorite memories of OPACY!

BarbClapp Communications was chosen to represent the Hilton Baltimore during its very high- profile opening effort as Baltimore's convention hotel. The hotel has suites that overlook the ball park. We had an opening press event party during an Orioles game and I felt like I was another player in the outfield!

TimmyThe very first Opening Day.  I was an attorney at Semmes, Bowen & Semmes and our building at 250 W. Pratt Street had a large balcony overlooking Camden Yards. We hosted a pre-game client luncheon which I planned and we watched the game from our offices! That view is now blocked by a hotel!

LisaOpening Days at Camden Yards are always great memories, especially when you get a ball!

Dana - My dad took my brother and me to Cal's 2131 game. I still remember when they dropped the 2131 banner!

Karen E. My favorite Camden Yards memory is when we went to the Orioles Legends game back in 2012.  It was so cool seeing Frank Robinson, Cal Ripken. Earl Weaver, Brooks Robinson, Eddie Murray and Jim Palmer all honored at center field at Camden Yards.  A truly awesome Baltimore experience!

Karen B. -  I met my husband Todd at Camden Yards! He was working for Perdue and I was at FOX, and our corporate skyboxes were next to each other. We were both entertaining clients in our respective boxes and started chatting each other up!

Sarah - My favorite "memory" is going to OPACY before it opened in 1991 to pick out our season ticket seats with my mom and grandfather. I say "memory" because I was one and don't remember it! I'm told I had a good time.

Heather When I first moved to Baltimore (the first city I'd ever lived in with an MLB team), I went to three baseball games in my first week of living here. Taking the metro into the city from my apartment in Owings Mills and walking to the stadium was how I learned my way around town. I loved it!

August 2017

From the Desk of Barb Clapp...
I cannot believe we are getting into the end of August. Time can get away from us and before we know it summer is winding down and fall is around the corner. I remind myself every day to stop, breathe and enjoy life. I've decided to take some time and go on a long-awaited trip with my husband and two daughters at the end of August. We are going to Alaska and we could not be more excited! I can't wait to see the wildlife and experience the beauty of the state. I will share some pictures when I get back. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of this lovely summer.
