The "V" Channel is a 501c3 nonprofit organization created to promote the power of virtues.

The "V" is for Virtues.
The "V" Channel is reaching out to high school and college student filmmakers, inviting them to submit examples of their best work to the Hollywood "V" Crew, a group of film industry professionals committed to discovering young artists who are interested in making inspiring and meaningful videos.
The Power of Virtues.
Common to people of all cultures, ethnicities and beliefs, virtues empower youth to:
> Achieve their personal goals
> Experience more harmonious relationships at school and at home
>
Choose peace over violence
> Rise above the negative influence of peer pressure and the mass media
>
Fully reveal their originality, creativity and excellence
> Have a positive effect in school, community and society
Some of the many virtues that help young people be the very best they can be: Assertiveness, Compassion, Confidence, Detachment, Determination, Excellence, Generosity, Honesty, Idealism, Justice, Moderation, Patience, Peacefulness, Reliability, Respect, Responsibility, Self-Discipline, Tact, Tolerance, Truthfulness and Unity.
Lights... Camera... "V" Videos!
"V" Videos are short movies based on virtues. Selected filmmakers receive our Proprietary Production Brief to guide them through the creative development process, from character and story ideation to writing final scripts that express how choosing virtues results in positive life experiences.
Approved "V" Video scripts are green-lighted to receive a production budget between $500-$5,000.  Budgets are commensurate with director's experience and are based on estimated production costs.
"V" Videos bring virtues to life.
> Inspired by teachable moments; times when youth can learn from challenges
> 2-5 minute "cinematic gems" based on the what, why and how of virtues
> Variety of genres: drama, comedy, documentary, musical and animation
Examples:
"I'm not good at waiting"
"Patience" 2:44 >
"The kid was dead"
"Instead of tweets listen to real birds"
In addition to featuring student "V" Videos on The "V" Channel's website, YouTube channel, and social networking services, we will partner with a top digital marketing and PR agency to build awareness of the project and oversee the dissemination of videos to popular social media networks, streaming content providers, and local and national media outlets.
"V" Videos in the classroom help cultivate character.
School screenings, reviews and classroom discussions of "V" Videos offer youth-to-youth forums that give students a unique way to focus attention on what is good in an often hostile and competitive world.
To make a submission email us at students@theVchannel.com. Be sure to include student's name, age and school, along with a link to an example of their best work.

All submissions will be reviewed by the Hollywood "V" Crew. Selection criteria are based on quality, originality and level of students' filmmaking abilities; writing, directing, acting, editing, musical score and sound mix.
Message From the Founder
Scott Feraco
During the early years most children learn basic virtues such as "generosity" to share their toys, "friendliness" to be nice and play together, and "obedience" to follow instructions. As kids get older, those early lessons are often diluted or countered by external influences such as the media, peer pressure, or family issues. Because parents and teachers are hard-pressed for time, many teens don't have access to positive guidance and are left to explore social and emotional learning on their own.

"V" Videos fill a need by telling stories that teens can identify with. We aim to produce hundreds of student "V" Videos that inspire teens to rethink "goodness" and to choose virtues, and in the process, build an online resource providing parents, teachers and coaches across the country with powerful, engaging and uplifting messaging they can share with their kids.

As a father and an inner-city youth basketball coach for over ten years, I've experienced firsthand the positive effect virtues have on teenage boys and girls. I left the advertising business and started The "V" Channel because I believe every child can benefit from learning about the power of virtues. We recently attracted the attention of the Harry Singer Foundation and the Jefferson Awards Foundation, two renowned organizations dedicated to improving the lives of young people.  Together, we are reaching out to schools inviting students to participate in the "V" Videos Project.

In the spirit of idealism, "Daring to have big dreams and then acting as if they are possible," we are seeking sponsorships from companies and national brands interested in supporting a nonprofit, cause-related initiative.

If you are in a position to support the "V" Videos Students' Project, please email me at scott@theVchannel.com  or call/text 917-445-0102.

With sincere appreciation,
