EBCBOR Young Professionals Win NAR's 2016 Network of the Year Award 

Congratulations to our Bergen County Young Professionals Network on winning The 2016 Medium Association Network of the year! As an association, we are proud and appreciate the hard work and dedication of our young professionals. EBCBOR Young Professionals Hold Annual Food Drive!

The Young Professionals Network (YPN) held their annual food drive this past Thursday. They collected 34 bags of food donations for the Center for Food Action's pantries this holiday season. This networking benefit event was sponsored by Robert Khoury of Main Street Title and Matt Gratalo of Homebridge Mortgage.

NAR 2016 Year in Review

The 2016 Year in Review video highlights many of the association's accomplishments and activities over the year, including the roll-out of the "Get Realtor" ad campaign, the association's partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the passage of legislation to expand condo financing, and the centennial celebration of the term REALTOR.


Uncertainty Over the Election Moves Rates Up

Average fixed-rate mortgages edged higher this week, but forecasters are unsure if the rising rates may be a temporary blip or a more lasting one. "This week's survey reflects pre-election market conditions," says Sean Becketti, Freddie Mac's chief economist. As a result, the 30-year mortgage rate increased to 3.57 percent, only 3 basis points higher than last week's level. On Wednesday, the 10-year Treasury yield closed above 2 percent, about 25 basis points higher than its pre-election value and its highest yield since January.

After record ad spending, New Jersey Voters Reject Casino Expansion

New Jersey voters on Tuesday roundly rejected a proposal to allow two casinos in the northern half of the state, ensuring Atlantic City will keep its statewide monopoly on gaming and that casino interests in New York won't face the threat of new resorts just across the Hudson River. 


Voters approve ballot measure to dedicate gas tax despite last-minute opposition

New Jersey voters on Tuesday approved a constitutional amendment that will dedicate gas tax revenue to transportation projects, delivering a political loss to the state's newly ambitious lieutenant governor who had raised concerns about the previously uncontroversial measure.
