Hurricane Matthew Relief
Christchurch is excited to contribute to the following two organizations:

The Anglican Relief and Development Fund works directly with local parishes to provide immediate needs and encouragement. Go to: http://ardf.org/relief/ and click on DONATE NOW

First Baptist Church here in Montgomery has a ministry called "Children's Hope" that supports orphans and vulnerable children in Haiti: they have built and staff an orphanage, educate over 1000 children a year, and have started a medical and dental clinic. They have incredible contacts and first-hand knowledge of what items are needed and how to rebuild the area. Go to: http://www.childrens-hope.com/give/disasterrelief/

Please contact Katherine@christchurchxp.net for more information or to make a donation. (Please put "Hurricane Matthew" in the memo line of any checks.)
Christchurch Music Program
The Music Program at Christchurch includes our adult choir, our children's choir, known as the Celebration Choir, contemporary music at the Eucharist, and concerts and events throughout the year. We strive to explore repertoire from the Middle Ages through to today, as we lift our voices in praise of our Creator.

Chancel Choir rehearsals are held Wednesdays, 5:45-7:00pm.

Celebration Choir rehearsals are held Wednesdays, 5:30-6:00pm in the Hidden Treasure Room.

Now is the perfect time to join the choir! If you have any questions, please email Thomas at tbowers@christchurchxp.net.
Vestry Nominations
Nominations for Vestry are now open!

Each year four members of Christchurch are chosen by lot at the Annual Parish meeting to serve a three-year term on our Vestry. Nominees must be confirmed Anglicans and members of Christchurch who are faithful in worship and Bible study and who give regularly of their time, resources and talents to the life of our church. Please obtain the consent of a nominee before submitting their name to Fr. Andrew (arowell@christchurchxp.net).

The nomination period is open until November 20th, so please prayerfully ask God who He might raise up for this next season of leadership!

From the ACNA Catechism
117. How do these differ from the sacraments of the Gospel?
They are not commanded by Christ as necessary for salvation, but arise from the practice of the apostles and the early Church, or are states of life blessed by God from creation. God clearly uses them as means of grace.

Access the Catechism on the ACNA page here.

Here are the Scripture references.

None cited this week.

Prayer For Christchurch

Give us Your strength for the journey, Lord, for we've begun the race but are far from the finish. You Who have brought us to this new day, lead us onward, for we want to follow.

Give us the faith to fight the good fight, for with You we know we cannot lose.

Give us the peace that knows we're not alone, for Your Son walks with us.

Give us the grace to see each step taken as part of a greater Plan, for it's Your will that we seek.

And as we keep the faith to the end of our journey, may we always remember why we began.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.

+CHRISTCHURCH+
Its unceasing mission:
To be a light in the world, a city set on a hill;
To keep the faith delivered once for all to the saints;
To offer new life and ancient truth.

To be a place where:

Saints are made
and fishing taught;

love's displayed
as souls are caught;

hearts are mended
and faith upbuilt;

all befriended,
freed from guilt;

holy fires by Spirit lit
and
bright hopes raised
by Holy Writ;

Jesus praised
as bread is broken,

to share His cup,
that grace be spoken;

lives lifted up:
the blind find sight,
the lost brought near,
In God's delight Christ is here!

"Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine:
Glory to him from generation to generation in the Church, and in Christ Jesus forever. Amen."

Ephesians 3:20-21
