Welcome Back to School!
Welcome back for the 2017-18 school year! 

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at Open House this Thursday! Teachers, staff and volunteers are working hard getting classrooms ready and preparing for the new school year. I look forward to serving as your PTA President and am excited about what we have planned for our Eastover students. If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please let me know. There are so many back-to-school events not to be missed: 


Back-to-School Night, August 24, 3:00-5:00 pm
New Families Playdate, August 25, 10:00-11:00 am
New Parent Coffee, September 1st, 8:30 am 
PTA Mtg & Curriculum Night, September 19th, 5:00-6:30 pm
New Parent Party, September 29th
Eastover Spirit Night

Visit  Hubee D's or Zio for dinner after Back-to-School Night, Thursday, August 24th.  Mention Eastover when you pay and our school will receive a percentage of the proceeds.
Playground Improvements:  Your Boosterthon Dollars at work!

Our Boosterthon fundraiser may have been last Spring, but your donations are continuing to fund improve
me nts at our school! Perhaps the most exciting for our students is the newly installed Gaga
Bal l pit o n the big playground. We have also had the lines on the basketball court repainted and ordered new rugs for all classrooms. This is in addition to the 10%
of donations collected that went dir ectly to teachers to use as needed in their classrooms. This would not be possible without your donations, so thank you for supporting our school through the Boosterthon fundraising campaign!

We're SOARing Back to School!

Don't forget to keep SOARing until school begins.   It isn't too late. Just print a  SOAR log  from the  Eastover PTA website , mark time spent reading or participating in learning activities, and turn it in by September 5th!

Eastover Community Garden Update

Mrs. Duckett's 2016-2017 class helped plant seeds for the Eastover Garden and it is thriving!  The cucumbers and tomatoes pictured here were harvested from our garden this summer!  We look forward to using our garden for more learning opportunities this year.

Sedgefield Middle School Update

As most of you know, last spring CMS changed Eastover's middle school feeder pattern to Sedgefield Middle School (SMS) beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. This summer, CMS Central Learning Community superintendent, Tara Sullivan, met with representatives from Eastover, SMS Principal Erik Turner, and other community leaders to discuss initial plans that will support students during this transition to a new middle school. 

CMS will keep us informed about the SMS transition through periodic updates. Read their August SMS Update here.
