All Saints_ Day Observance

All Saints' Day Observance and Holy Baptism
Sunday, November 6

For our All Saints' celebration we invite you to bring a picture of a departed loved one to church. It would be helpful if the photo is framed and able to stand independently, but any photo will be fine. We will place these photos on the ledges under the windows in the nave of the church. Name tags will be available to identify the person in the photo and that person's relationship to the individual who brought the photo.

During the liturgies on November 6 we will pray for these saints of God who loved us and cared for us during our formative years. We are disciples of Jesus Christ today because of their constant witness in our lives! For that we will give thanks.

Please consider leaving your saints' pictures for two Sundays so everyone can see them.

Holy Baptism

Also at our All Saints' Day Observance, we will baptize Jaxson Hale, son of Audrey and Charles; Hunter Hinson, son of Amanda and Zack; and Zoe Fischesser, daughter of Natalie and Matt. Please pray for these children and their parents as they prepare for Baptism.
St. Christopher's Crops
Bedding Down Our Tenth Garden
Sunday, November 6, 11:15 a.m.

Fall has officially arrived with early morning temperatures dropping into the thirties. So, the time has come to put our St. Christopher's Crops Garden to bed for the winter. There's a lot to be done, but many hands will make the job easy. Please plan to bring work clothes and gloves to church on November 6. Join us to wrap up our first decade of Christopher's Crops!

Prayers for Our Nation  On the Eve of the Election
Monday, November 7, 7:00 p.m.

St. Christopher's will be joining with other parishes in our diocese to offer prayers for our nation on November 7. At 7:00 p.m., the service of Evening Prayer will be read in the church with special intentions for God's guidance as we move beyond the election cycle. The service will last approximately 30 minutes and the church will remain open until 8 p.m. for silent reflection. Please join us for a short time of prayer as the nation undertakes the important task of electing its leaders for the next few years.

Mother Jenny's South Africa Report
Sunday, November 13, 11:15 a.m.

Last month Mother Jenny traveled to South Africa on a study trip with the Wabash Pastoral Leadership Program. The group met with church and community leaders to learn about work that brought down Apartheid, established the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and continues to build a just South Africa. Come to coffee hour on  Sunday, November 13 to hear about it (and see some beautiful pictures).
Holiday Food Tote Pick-up for
Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center
Sunday, November 13

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and it's time to begin our holiday outreach ministry projects. Needs are great and hunger is very real. Let's do our part.

St. Christopher's Service to Others will provide 120 totes for parishioners to fill for the Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center holiday food drive. Totes will be available beginning on Sunday, November 13. A list of requested items will be taped inside each tote. Written instructions will be provided for purchase of a Kroger gift certificate for a ham or turkey when you pick up your tote. Filling the tote can be a great family or group project. Ask your family, neighbors, committee members, or friends to fill a tote in thanksgiving for their own good fortune during the holidays.

Return the filled totes no later than Sunday, December 11.
Mother Jenny's Office Hours

Mother Jenny now has open office hours every Monday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Of course, she is in the office at many other times, but you can be sure to catch her during her office hours. This is time when you are free to drop in and see her about anything - prayer, a personal need, questions, or help with a ministry you are part of, or anything else you need to talk about with her. If that time doesn't work for you, you are welcome to stop and see her at Starbuck's  (Hamilton Crossing) on Wednesdays between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m., or call and make an appointment for any other time.
