An Invitation to SAIS Philippines Roundtable with Featured Speaker Professor Renato Cruz de Castro

The Duterte Foreign Policy:
Return of Equi-balancing

The Duterte Administration has sought to expand partnerships during his visits to China, Japan, Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand and Malaysia. President Duterte's recent actions indicate the Philippines is strengthening its naval and coast guard capabilities with help from Japan and South Korea. With President-elect Donald Trump, President Duterte's message towards strengthened US-Philippines ties may signal a possible change in tone. Please join us in a roundtable discussion with Professor Renato Cruz de Castro on the Duterte Administration's foreign policy.
