Fullerton College Offers Several Ways to Give this Season

Great American Smokeout
On Thursday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to
1 p.m., Health Services will be on the Quad promoting the national Great American Smoke Out. The event focuses on education about tobacco use and resources to help people quit smoking. Students will be able to write thank you notes to someone they know that has quit smoking and can participate in our "Quit Cold Turkey Challenge" by committing to change a bad habit in exchange for a cold turkey sandwich (while supplies last). Students that participate in the event will be entered for prizes.

Fullerton College Competitors Take Top Awards at CSUF Blumer Tournament
Fullerton College competitors took top awards at the 23rd Cal State Fullerton Blumer Speech and Debate Tournament on Nov. 12. Facing teams from CSUF, CSUN, and CSUM, Fullerton College's Rohan Shah and Ryan Martinez took first place in debate with a 4-0 record, while partners, Nakota Arrona and Mariah Duran took fourth place with a 3-1 record.

Open Enrollment Has Started!
Representatives from the Orange County United Way and The G.R.E.E.N. Foundation will be on campus during the month of November to help the campus community learn and enroll in Covered California or MediCal during the Covered California enrollment period. President' Open Forum: Nov. 21
In an effort to encourage ongoing communication and teamwork across campus, President Greg Schulz has scheduled a series of Open Forums. The next forum is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. in Bldg. 200, Room 22-228. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion.
EIR Scoping Public Forum
The campus and community-wide Environmental Impact Report Scoping Forum is scheduled on Thursday, Nov. 17 in Building 200, Rooms 224 - 228 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Invitations were emailed to the campus and mailed to the community within a one-mile radius of the campus to attend the forum for an update, open discussion and to provide feedback on the current environmental impact studies at Fullerton College.

David Cook Recognized at Fall Classified Staff Meet and Greet

Adopt an Angel at the EOPS Open House
Join the EOPS Office for their Thanksgiving Open House on Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. Stop by to spend time with colleagues and enjoy pastries and hot beverages. Staff Development Workshops
The Digital Literacy workshop is on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. in Room 800D. A Using Open Resources workshop is on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. in Room 800D. A workshop on serving student veterans is on Friday, Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. followed by a workshop on serving disabled students at 10:30 a.m. in Room 312. There is also a Flipped Classroom workshop at 10 a.m., followed by a Canvas Gradebook workshop at noon in Room 800D.

Building Workforce Diversity: It Takes a Village
In this day-long summit, administrators from across the institution are invited to join together to discuss legal requirements and operational strategies for compliance with Title 5 EEO regulations and build a more diverse workforce. "Transitional Realities" refers to the changes in time, space, and emotions of a person, and how they allow these changes to shape and affect them. The five artists participating in this exhibition bring forth non-objective representations of their own external and internal realities.
The Men's and Women's Chorales of Fullerton College will present a variety of choral literature, including classical, folks songs, spiritual, musical theatre and barbershop.
Clarinet choir, flute choir, and chamber ensembles perform chamber music directed by David Lopez in the Recital Hall.
The Cabana Boys directed by Greg Woll featuring the exciting sounds of jazz, rock, pop, Latin and fusion.

Football
The Hornets took a share of the SCFA National Southern Conference Championship on Saturday with a convincing 59-27 victory at home over Golden West College.
Up Next: The #1 Hornets (9-1 overall) will host #4 Ventura College (8-2) at Yorba Linda High School on Saturday, Nov. 19. Kickoff will be announced soon.
Men's Soccer
After a tough 2-0 loss to Golden West College last Friday, the Hornets came back strong with a 3-0 home-win over Norco College on Tuesday to finish the regular season.
Up Next: The Hornets (10-6-5 overall, 6-5-3 conference) await their fate for the post season. Stay tuned!
Women's Soccer
Fullerton played their last game of the season at home on Friday taking a 5-1 loss from Saddleback College. It was a rough season for the Hornets who were overrun by injuries. The team never lost their will to fight and gave it their best effort for each game. FC will miss the playoffs ending their season with an overall record of 4-13-3.
Women's Golf
Gwen Bates is currently representing the Hornet golf squad at the CCCAA State Championships at Morro Bay. The tournament began on Sunday and will run until the end of the day today.
Women's Water Polo
Decimated by injuries early in the season, the Hornets banded together turning what could have been a long season into one that named them champs.

The Hornets split their games at the Santa Barbara Crossover Tournament over the weekend falling to host Santa Barbara College 79-68 and beating Moorpark College 67-54.

Men's Basketball
The Hornets hosted the FC Classic Tournament winning their first game on Wednesday but then went on to drop their next two games on Friday and Saturday.
