(The newsletter formerly known as Family Flyer)
Hello STM Community -

This week we are enjoying the sunshine and pretending that winter will delay a bit longer. It has given all your children a bit more time to get energy out outside I hope. In the meantime, the swap shop could use your help stocking up on winter coats! Please contact Lisa Amman for more details at 612-242-9032 or [email protected]

In this week's newsletter, you will see pictures from this past week's activities, learn about all that is going on in the school, and be reminded to help recruit for our  Open House  on Monday, Nov. 14th, so please help get the word out and invite your friends to come see for themselves why you and your child(ren) love STM - it is a family friendly event!

As, we approach Thanksgiving, we are reminded to keep gratitude at the forefront of our thoughts and actions. Please continue to bring in non-perishables for our food drive.Your generosity as a community is much appreciated!

Help promote our Open House!

Our Open House is next Monday, Nov. 14th. You as parents are our best advocates and most appreciated resource in getting the word out. Please help promote the event on FB, Twitter, Snap Chat, and by word-of-mouth!
Come for the coffee. Stay for the community.

Tomorrow morning is our November Friday Coffee. Come join parents across the community for coffee, friendship, and face time with both Mrs. Volkenant and Mr. Olsen. We look forward to seeing you there!

Food Drive for the Poor

Please bring your non-perishables to donate to the Franciscan Brothers of Peace and their mission to the poor. We will collect  food in the classrooms  funtil next week and then conclude with a blessing of the food on Thursday, November 18th, at 2:50pm  in the auditorium.

STM Preschool/Kindergarten Feast

We are very excited to begin our 4th year of Giving and Thanks here at St. Thomas  More!

Who:
All STM Preschool and Kindergarten children are invited to participate in our Giving and Thanks during the month of November.

Why:
Social Justice is an important part of our curriculum.  For young children, the concept of giving is often hard to grasp when donations simply disappear one day.  We have created this tradition at STM to help children understand Social Justice and giving as an important part of personal celebration.

What: We, along with the rest of the 1st - 8th graders, will be collecting
food items for the  Franciscan Brothers of Peace. For many years, St. Thomas  More has worked in collaboration with Brother Pio and his Brothers to help stock their Emergency Food Shelf in November.

Where and When:
Students are welcome to contribute to our collection.  Kindergarten students may bring their items to their classrooms and Preschool students can place their donations on top of the cubbies. We are going to see if we can completely fill our cubby shelves with food.  We will collect food until our feast on Thursday, Nov. 17th.  Our feast celebration will begin at 9:30AM in the cafeteria!

We have a YouTube Channel

We now have a YouTube Channel to showcase our students and school with video content.

Help Mr. Olsen by subscribing, sharing, and helping to fill the channel with content by sending it to him at [email protected]
Fall Sports Banquet and Basketball Announcements

The Fall Sports Banquet will be next Weds. November 16th from 5:30PM - 6:30PM in the Auditorium.
