Can you believe it's almost Thanksgiving!? We understand this time of year can be quite busy, so thank you for taking a few minutes to catch up on the activities of   YOUR  Community Foundation. We greatly appreciate your continued partnership and philanthropy! 
$189,787 Awarded to the Community

Through generous donor support, $189,787 in Community Needs Grants were awarded this fall. A total of 31 local nonprofits and community organizations were supported for a variety of projects. To date, over $22 million has been awarded to the community.

As we reflect on 2016, we would like to take a moment and say thank you for the philanthropic partnerships that have been forged or grown in the past year. Over the last 12 months we shared a few short stories of partnering with donors, grantees, and our community. We hope these stories are inspiring to all!

IRA Charitable Rollover
Understanding IRA Charitable Rollovers

New Catalyst Grant Program for Communities

Announcing Community Economic Development Grants, designed to incentivize and support local communities in their economic development plans. Grants up to $20,000 will act as a catalyst for local municipalities and communities. 


Since inception, more than 8,400 internship service hours have been completed through the DCNP-NGOLD Internship Program, benefiting nonprofits in DeKalb County. But to the students, it's much more than just building a resume.  

DHS Class of '76 Gives Back to Education

In a desire to give back to the supportive community that raised them, the DeKalb High School Class of 1976 collected $2,340 for the DeKalb Education Foundation Fund . The purpose of the Fund is to provide educational support for children of all ages in DeKalb Community School District #428.

Honoring Club Members Through Philanthropy

During a recent Kishwaukee Kiwanis Club meeting, an award ceremony took place to honor long-standing members of the Club for exemplary leadership and service. As part of the award, a donation was made in the recipients' names to the Kishwaukee Kiwanis Club CommunityWorks Endowment Fund.
