Xico Arte Y Cultura presents a lecture by George Yepes. Born in Tijuana and raised in East Los Angeles' City Terrace neighborhood, Yepes' work has taken him from East L.A. to Princeton, NASA, Dubai, and Hollywood. With grand scale and furious momentum, Yepes has painted eloquent social, historical and sacred images onto the facades of museums, churches, guitars, and album covers. Lecture is free to the public, but RSVP is required.

AZ ArtWorker: Richard Montoya

In November 2016, AZ ArtWorker will partner with Teatro Bravo to present a writing and acting workshop with Richard Montoya, co-founder of Chicano theatre group, Culture Clash. Participants will focus on the use of satire and humor to address social and culturally relevant content. This workshop is ideal for playwrights and actors whose work addresses identity and social justice.

Call to Arizona Artists "Tiny Art Exhibit"

Arizona artists are invited to submit up to six works of art for consideration. Art is art, no matter how tiny it is. All artwork must be 12" x 12" or smaller and no more than 15 lbs. Children's Garden Sculpture

The City of Flagstaff, jointly with the JLB Project, Inc., is seeking to commission a sculptor to create an enduring, memorable sculpture to celebrate and recognize babies that families have lost due to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, or other infant death. The Sculpture will be located in the Children's Garden at Foxglenn Park in Flagstaff and will be the physical and conceptual heart of the Children's Garden.
Peoria North Community Park

The City of Peoria in Arizona is seeking submittals for outdoor public artwork at the City of Peoria North Community Park. There are multiple potential site locations for public artwork. The total art budget for the project is two hundred sixty thousand ($260,000) for up to three public art pieces.
Tubac Center of the Arts

Artists are asked to create works of art for the cover of a real or imagined book (you may or may not include the title in the artwork itself). This call is for two-dimensional work only. Artists are urged to enter work that is innovative in content or approach. Artist's work will be displayed at the Tubac Center of the Arts and then moved to the Tucson Festival of the Book for one weekend, before returning to the Center.

The Anderson Center at Tower View

The Anderson Center at Tower View is accepting applications for the 2017 Artist Residency, which runs from May through October. The Anderson Center campus is on 350 acres of the historic Tower View Estate, built by AP Anderson between 1915 and 1921, on the western edge of Red Wing, Minnesota, and the buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Bates Dance Festival

The Bates Dance Festival offers three distinct training programs. The Young Dancers Workshop (YDW) a rigorous three-week program serves up to 100 pre-professional dancers ages 14-18. The Professional Training Program (PTP) a three-week intensive offers 30 daily classes in a wide array of dance disciplines and serves an intergenerational community of 190 dancers ages 18 and up. The Youth Arts Program is an arts day camp that serves local children ages 7-16 with dance, music, theater and visual arts training.

Webinars are recorded and shared with all registered participants after the webinar, regardless of whether participants attend the live workshop or not.

The Fender Music Foundation awards instruments and equipment to eligible music instruction programs. These items are lightly used, blemished or otherwise imperfect and have been collected from manufacturers and retailers. SpreadMusicNow judges each prospective music program by how much impact their mission will have on youth development. We ask, "in addition to teaching kids music, what effects will your program have on a child's development over the course of their lives as young adults?"
We focus our funding on those organizations and programs whose organizational model contributes not simply to a child's music skill, but to their ongoing development.
Our goal is that, through music education, we can contribute to a child's overall well-being, helping them gain skills and abilities that will allow them to succeed in school, at work and in life.
