Time is Running out to Register for the NAIC Annual Private Equity and Hedge Fund Conference

This premier thought leadership event will offer two days of networking with investment managers, chief investment officers, limited partners, policymakers, as well as in-depth industry panel discussions. NAIC Announces Award Recipients

The National Association of Investment Companies will honor several individuals and firms at the welcome reception for its Annual Private Equity & Hedge Fund Conference. The event will begin at 6:30 PM Monday, October 3rd at Tao Downtown located at 92 Ninth Avenue at 16th Street, New York, NY.
  • The NAIC Rising Star Award recognizes young professionals who are leading the way in the industry with their talent, dedication and expertise while they exemplify excellence and dedication as financial industry professionals early in their career.
  • The Chairman's Award for Leadership, which recognizes an individual who has exhibited outstanding, innovative and visionary leadership in the course of their duties while promoting the value of diversity in the investment process. This award, conveyed at the discretion of the NAIC Chairman, is bestowed upon those who serve as role models for future generations of investment professionals.
  • The NAIC Award of Excellence is presented to the individual whose singular efforts and professionalism personify excellence resulting in increased access to capital in our industry.

NAIC Home Run Club to Honor Inaugural Inductees

The NAIC announced it has established the NAIC Home Run Club, which recognizes significant deals completed by NAIC member firms that have returned at least 4X to their limited partners. The first inductees to the NAIC Home Run Club will be announced at the Annual Private Equity & Hedge Fund Conference, October 3-4. An ongoing recognition, members of the Home Run Club will also be listed on the NAIC website.

Argyle Completes Acquisition of Proformative's Webinars and Lead Generation Services

Argyle Executive Forum, LLC, a leading provider of events, content and professional networks for C-Suite executives and portfolio company of The Wicks Group of Companies, announced that it has acquired Proformative, Inc.'s webinar and lead generation services business unit. Proformative produces more than 100 CPE-accredited webinars annually for corporate finance, treasury and accounting executives. Proformative's separate, on-demand learning business will rebrand itself as Illumeo. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.



Vista CEO Donates $20M to African American Museum

Robert Smith, CEO of Vista Equity Partners, is profiled in a Washington Post article following his $20 million donation to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. Smith was the museum’s second-biggest private donor, with a $20 million gift. Oprah Winfrey was No. 1, with $21 million. In the article, Smith speaks about his business, charitable efforts as well as the racial tension escalating across the nation.



Pharos Capital Acquires Controlling Position in TechLab, Inc.

Pharos Capital Group, LLC announced it has acquired a controlling position in TechLab, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of rapid, non-invasive diagnostic tests for gastrointestinal disease. Pharos is acquiring its stake from Alere, Inc. (NYSE:ALR) as well as from TechLab's founders Dr. Tracy Wilkins and Dr. David Lyerly. TechLab's patented QUIK CHEK technology delivers highly accurate results in less than 30 minutes.



Pharos Capital Acquires Telepsychiatry Service Provider FasPsych, LLC

Pharos Capital Group, LLC announced it has acquired telepsychiatry services provider FasPsych, LLC. FasPsych, founded in 2007 and headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, manages a specialized pool of contracted psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners from across the country to provide telepsychiatry services via real-time, interactive televideo communication.
