Dear Friends,
We are writing to introduce you to the Coalition for a DSP Living Wage: Valuing Workers Who Support People with Developmental Disabilities. The Coalition is made up of a cross-section of stakeholders who are concerned about the current workforce crisis facing those who rely on Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to facilitate community based lives. Low wages have made it very difficult to recruit, hire and retain qualified DSPs to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across New Jersey.
You are receiving this communication because a member of the Steering Committee has identified you as someone who has a vital stake in addressing this workforce crisis. The Steering Committee is hoping that you will join the Coalition and help us achieve our goal to increase the hourly wages of DSPs.
In the materials attached, you will find a description of the Coalition, our purpose and member responsibilities. Please take a minute to read these materials as we urge you to join the Coalition and support this important cause. Once we have your agreement to participate in the Coalition we will communicate with you about next steps and ongoing activities.
