From the Message on Sunday

It's prodigal-like people that flock to Jesus.

Why? They are drawn to the Savior because they are really thankful.

It's elder-brother like people that in their arrogance are blinded by their own achievements and all their stuff. They are consumed by a want for more - never really stopping to say thank you Father. They have no room to love because they are keeping score.

We don't need to keep score and we have no need to tabulate our assets, instead on Thanksgiving we need to take stock of our blessings and our hearts and we need to practice thankfulness. We need to make sure there are no empty chairs as we celebrate with Thanksgiving!

Cast and Crew:

Dress rehearsal and cast photos will be on Sunday, November 27 at 3 pm

Why the Star? snacks and soup:

The food station will be in the Loving Building this year. Lots of snack items such as crackers, cheese, bread, fruit, granola bars, cookies and brownies will be needed for all three nights. On Friday night, beverages and pick up snacks will be available. On Saturday and Sunday nights, soup, beverages and pick up snacks will be available. If you can bring a crock pot of soup either night please let Ann Bremner (746-5221) know as soon as possible.Thanks for sharing your donations!

Calling all cookie bakers! We will need a lot of cookies for the receptions following the performances of "Why the Star?". Cookies may be brought during office hours from 9 am to 2 pm or left in the kitchen.

Edwin L. Hodges Ministries

It is time to collect all of our old Sunday School materials. Each year we mail these materials to Edwin L. Hodges Ministries in Alabama. They in turn ship it to third world countries who really want and need our help. They also want bibles and any Christian materials in good condition. Please bring whatever you have to the Loving building, Fellowship class (that's the one with the piano) by 11-30-16. If you have any questions contact Betty Sue Martin on 804-798-4553.
