Dear Friend of FLD:

It's been a great month or so since we last checked in with you. We've hosted some awesome events here at the distillery, like our first annual Halloween party. We've also had some fun featuring our products at some amazing spirits dinners at local restaurants like Dano's and the NY Wine & Culinary Center.

Though things are winding down a bit from a tourism standpoint, there are still plenty of reasons to come out to Finger Lakes Distilling. We're set to roll out a new single barrel release of our wheated bourbon at our Black Friday event. Our store is open every day from 11am - 5pm if you need to stock up on spirits for your holiday parties or just want to get a head start on your shopping.

Our seasonal cocktails (shown below) have been a big hit so far this month, and we are now offering a Bloody Mary bar on Sundays.

The Fruits of Fall
Updates from Production

October was another busy month for the production staff here at Finger Lakes Distilling. As it was harvest time for several fruits, production focused on making delicious spirits out of the finest fruits from around the Finger Lakes. They received a ton of Riesling grapes that they de-stemmed, crushed, and fermented to produce our newest batch of robust Riesling Grappa.
They also brought in 3,000 gallons of local apple cider that was fermented and transformed into a delicious batch of Apple Brandy with the continuous still. Another batch of Vintner's Vodka found its way off of the pot still; some of which was used to make our award-winning Cherry Liqueur.  As they were having fun with all the fruit,
the production team was also busy making 30 barrels of McKenzie Bourbon Whiskey. The bottling crew also had a very busy month, dedicating several days to bottle a huge order of Yobo Soju along with McKenzie Distiller's Reserve Gin and McKenzie Bourbon Whiskey.

Frankenstein and his bride set the bar high for next year's costume contest!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out
to support the Finger Lakes Film Society at our Nightmare on Seneca fundraising Halloween party! We had so much fun celebrating with all
of you and awarding your terrifying, hilarious and surprisingly convincing costumes. Thanks to your support we were able to help our friends at the Seneca Film Festival get a huge head start on their fundraising goals, and we can't wait to do it all again next year! Until then, stay spooky, friends!
FLD Featured Staff: Pat LeBaron  


We're continuing our FLD Featured Staff blog series with one of our tasting room managers, Pat LeBaron. Pat has been a member of the FLD team for about 4 years now and has become a pillar of our organization. Her dependable organizational skills and hard work ethic have made her the most beloved "boss lady" our staff has known.

Be a black sheep this Black Friday. Ditch the hectic shopping scene and join us 
as we celebrate rolling out another SINGLE BARREL RELEASE! Why shove your way through crowds when you could belly-up to the bar, sip on a cocktail and take 
in the view. We'll have live music from the Purple Valley Band, pop-up shops from a few of our favorite local businesses and great deals on  gifts for the whiskey lovers
in your life!

Saturday, November 19th, 8 am - 6 pm
We're so excited to have a booth at the Union Square Greenmarket in New York
City as part of their Beer and Spirits of New York Pop-Up series! Find us there on Saturday, November 19th to sample and purchase some of our featured Finger
Lakes Distilling spirits, including our McKenzie Whiskey.


Friday, December 2nd, 7 - 11 pm
Join us in Aurora this December and help us celebrate one of our most favorite nights of the year. On this evening, Inns of Aurora transforms Rowland House into a Prohibition-era, action-filled speakeasy, with a live jazz band, vintage-inspired Finger Lakes Distilling cocktails, poker games, delectable hors d'oeuvres, and - of course - dancing. Wear your flapper dresses and bootleg best, and come ready to kick up your heels!

There are only THREE tours left in the 2016 season! Our McKenzie Whiskey Tour includes a one hour walking tour of our three production buildings, plus a private tasting and a free piece of FLD glassware of your choice.

      Featured Cocktails

      Maple Bourbon Crisp
Cranberry Bog
      1.5 oz. McKenzie Bourbon Whiskey
      2-3 dashes Fee Brothers Black Walnut Bitters
      .25 oz. maple syrup  
      .5 oz. fresh lemon juice
      3 oz. fresh apple cider

      Shake ingredients over ice and strain in to glass.         Serve neat or on the rocks.
     
      Cranberry Bog
      1.5 oz McKenzie Distiller's Reserve Gin
      2 dashes orange bitters
      2 dashes Fee Brothers Cranberry Bitters
      .5 oz. ginger shrub
      2 oz. cranberry juice

      Build cocktail in a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon slice.
