Share the gift of warmth with a family in desperate need

Falling Temperatures Mean Further Hardship For the Less Fortunate
Assalaamu Alaykum WaRahmatullahi WaBarakatahu,

As we come together with family and friends to share a warm meal in the safety of our homes let us not forget those who are struggling to survive these winter nights. Imagine sleeping in makeshift homes during the dark winter nights without the comfort and security of warmth? Bone chilling temperatures threaten the lives of hundreds of thousands of people across the globe. War, natural disasters and poverty threaten their lives and deprive them of this basic necessity.

An estimated 1.6 billion people worldwide are without adequate housing; these individuals are either internally displaced , refugees, or the less fortunate. HHRD's Global Winter Relief Program aims to spread the gift of warmth and eventually save lives by providing winter packages to those in desperate need.

These winter packages include:  Winter Coats, Jackets, Sweaters, Scarves, Shawls, Gloves, Socks, Hats, Blankets, Comforters, Quilts; Mattresses, Pillows, Thermal, Hot-Water-Bottles, Heaters, etc. (varies by country)

These countries and regions include: Syrian & Palestinian Refugees in Jordan & Lebanon, Kashmir Valley (including Sri Nagar), Afghanistan, Pakistan, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, Bangladesh, and India.

For millions of Syrians this is their 6 th winter away from home, many left with merely the clothes on their backs. With children to feed and little to no source of income many will perish during these upcoming months. Poverty as a result of monsoon rains, earthquakes, and internal strife haunts many in Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan. Without proper homes, clothes and heating arrangements they too will suffer a bone chilling winter.

Help us ensure these families have enough supplies to face the perils of winter. Share the gift of warmth as internally displaced people struggle for normalcy, villagers from remote areas struggle to rise from the floods, and families facing poverty struggle to secure their next meal.

Wasalaaam Walaykum WaRahmatullahi WaBarakatahu,
-HHRD Team

HHRD Relief Work in Haiti Continues

The recovery and rebuilding process continues as HHRD's Emergency Response Team provides emergency relief to hurricane Matthew victims. Our  team has provided galvanized iron sheets to rebuild homes, conducted food distributions in and around the city of Jeremie, and visited orphanages to help pay tuition of HHRD sponsored orphans.

With most of southern Haiti destroyed it will be a long road ahead for the Haitian people. We urge our donors to donate towards our Haiti Relief Fund and help us help them.
