WMS & WHS PTO COMBINED MEETING

MOTHER'S GROUP

Back by popular demand! The WHS Mothers Group will be meeting on Wednesday, November 16, 9:45am in room 258.

Debra Levine, WHS Special Education Department Head, and Maura Renzella, Director of the Wellesley Youth Commission, have once again graciously agreed to facilitate the group.  The meetings offer a forum for parents to discuss issues of mutual interest - whether school- or community-related.  At the first meeting the group will have the opportunity to decide if there are any issues on which parents would particularly like to focus, as well as to get (re)acquainted and set future meeting dates.   All are welcome.

NEW -- WHS Athletic Council

In response to the findings from the Athletic Review there will be a formation of an Athletic Advisory Council.

The responsibility of this committee will be to create solutions and plans to address the recommendations of the recent Athletic Review findings, brainstorm intermediate and long term hopes for the department and advise the Athletic Director in general.

This Advisory Council will be made up of 3 parents (two individuals from Wellesley and one from Boston), 2 coaches, 2 students, a teacher, an Assistant Principal, the Athletic Director and the Principal.

This will be a two-year commitment. If you are interested in being considered for the parent volunteer slot, please submit a letter of interest and contact information to the PTSO Co-Presidents at [email protected] by Friday Nov.18.

WHS ORCHESTRA CONCERT

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OUR SPELLING BEE SUPPORTERS

The Wellesley Education Foundation (WEF) thanks all our supporters for their continued trust in our dedication to public education and to our community.

Without the continued trust of our supporters the Wellesley Spelling Bee would not be the Wellesley tradition that it is today, the community's "darling" event of the year.

This year, the Wellesley Spelling Bee had 56 registered teams, 73 sponsors, and raised over $56,000. Funds raised through the Bee will go towards grants awarded by WEF to further educational excellence and innovation in the Wellesley Public Schools.  Your continued support, allows WEF to give back to our schools in a diverse range of meaningful ways each year.

Thank you again for helping to make our 27th annual event  yet another amazingly successful event this year!

About WEF
Through the funding of programs and grants for over thirty years, The Wellesley Education Foundation ("WEF") has championed innovation, excellence, and inclusion in Wellesley Public Schools from the first day of pre-school, through high school graduation, and beyond. WEF works to unite the entire community in enthusiastic support of our schools.  Nearly $2.1 million has been awarded in grants and assistance to educators in the last 10 years alone.
