The Episcopal Diocese of Georgia will gather for its 195th Convention at the Church of the Good Shepherd starting tomorrow, Thursday, November 10 through Saturday, November 12, 2016.

Here are the latest updates:

The Convention Book, which includes the order for Convention, list of workshops, profiles of nominees, and financial statements can be found here.

Additional Resolution
The 195th Convention now has two resolutions to consider:

1) A second reading on the resolution to move the Church of the Holy Comforter, Martinez, to parish status. The text of this resolution can be found here: Parish Status Second Reading

2) The second resolution calls for the Dioceses of Atlanta and Georgia to form a Commission on Healing Justice. An identical resolution will come before the Diocese of Atlanta. As this resolution came in after the 60 day deadline for resolutions as required by convention, it will come from the floor. Given that the Secretary of Convention knows of this intention, we are distributing it to convention delegates in order for those representatives to be prepared for the vote. On Friday members of the Task Force will propose the resolution. An immediate vote will be taken to determine if at least 2/3 of the convention agrees to consider the resolution from the floor. If that vote is successful, the resolution would come before convention on Saturday. The full resolution is online here: Establish a Committee on Healing Justice
