Hello Everyone. Usually summer is quiet around here, but we have had some exciting things happen in the last month.
The Open Studio recently acquired the property directly south of The Real Juice Bar. Here are some pictures of the fence coming down between the two properties. With another 1/2 acre and two more buildings we will be able to expand parking and develop more
programming. We are currently looking at proposals for new programs and possibly some shuffling of current offerings to better spaces. We will pass along more details as we have them...and please, if you have an idea of something you'd like to do or see happen at TOS.....let us know.
Also, if you drive east on Dearborn Street, please look up as you pass
Zeke's Restaurant. We have a beautiful new billboard letting everyone know what we do at The Open Studio. The dramatic background is a section of one of Rita Schwab's abstract paintings. It's especially captivating at night when it's lit up.
We're also pleased to introduce two new volunteers who have filled a couple of critical holes in our programming. First, especially dear to my heart, is our new administrative director. She is adept at all the things at which I am not.....tech skills, schedules, policy, organization. All much needed as we continue to grow. We are all pleased to welcome Judi Jenkins to TOS .
Judi's partner, Bill Lundgren, who along with being the designer of our above mentioned billboard, will now be our Backyard Events coordinator. In addition to more house concerts, Bill has some other wacky and fun ideas for events this season. With the grounds looking so fabulous these days (thanks to Sam, Greg and Todd), we are delighted to be planning more activities in that nurturing environment.
Thank you all who helped on fence removal day. We look forward to TOS continuing to develop into a community resource with something for everyone.

Garden Help Needed
With the addition of this new 1/2 acre, Sam needs HELP. It is desolate over there, but fortunately he has a nursery full of fruit trees and edible plants that can transform the space into the lush gardens it has the potential to be. He is on site every

GYROKINESIS® movement is a method that gently works the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original, and unique movement practice which has roots in Yoga, Tai Chi, gymnastics, and dance. Classes can be adapted to fit anyone's ability. In the Healing Arts Center.
The Activators are a whole body exercise & energy class for your body, mind and spirit. The one-hour practice is suitable for anyone regardless of their fitness level. The Activators will tone your body, strengthen your central nervous system, dissipate stress stored in your body, focus your mind, and tap unused energy reserves. These outcomes are the key to using your mind (thoughts) and heart (feelings) to create clear mental pictures of your desires to direct your subconscious mind into action. In the Healing Arts Center.
