One Billion Acts of Kindness
from Eva White, AP Curriculum and Instruction

We here at FVHS for many years have been performing acts of kindness and community service; whether it is individuals, groups, classes, staff, clubs, sports teams, etc. Since this is part of our culture, let's share out ALL the great things you are doing help us become a huge presence on the District website as well as OCDE.

We have been planning to get this movement rolling here at FVHS and what a better time to do it than now. We want to remind our students about how amazing they are and can be as we continue to build our great school culture known as The Baron Way. B4L!

A little background information from the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE):
In May 2016, OCDE launched the One Billion Acts of Kindness initiative aimed at promoting civility, character, and positive school climates. This campaign encourages students, educators, and community members to help in reaching their goal of registering one billion acts of kindness. Since its formal launch, OCDE has recorded over 440,500 acts of kindness. This video created by OCDE does a great job of explaining this movement.

Here are the steps:

· Step 1 - Perform any act(s) of kindness

· Step 2 - Share your act(s) of kindness with OCDE by the following the "heart" button on www.hbuhsd.edu or by sharing on social media using the hashtag #kindness1billion (Also hashtag #baronsbringit)

· Step 3 - Let the district know about you kinds act(s) by filling out this Google Form:

· Step 4 - Encourage students, educators, and community members to participate in spreading the kindness.

One of the best things FVHS is known for is our SCHOOL SPIRIT and CULTURE. Let's share it with the rest of the district and county! Thank you to those of you who have already started logging your acts of kindness. If you have any questions, feel free to stop by Assistant Principal Ms. White's office.
