Rabbi Rayna Grossman takes over as Lions Gate’s religious director
Rabbi Rayna Grossman, the new director of religious services at Lions Gate, didn’t need a tour to get to know Lions Gate, Dubin, Gesher and Saltzman Houses, the residences that make up Jewish Senior Housing & Healthcare Service (JSHHS), an agency of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey. She also did not need to introduce herself to the residents and staff. That’s because she has spent the past two years building relationships.
“I’ve been here the past two years as a rabbinic intern,” said Grossman, who was ordained this past spring at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Wyncote, PA. Earlier this summer, Grossman took over from Rabbi Lewis Eron, who retired after 24 years as Lions Gate’s director of religious services and community chaplain.

Let’s Talk about Relationships…
In the latest Money Matters column in the Jewish Community Voice, the topic of the day is relationships. Specifically, relationships between you and organizations.
On Sunday, September 10th Dr. Ron Wolfson will be here in SNJ to discuss his book, “Relational Judaism.” It’s a hot topic, and the Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. invites you to be a part of this important conversation that could impact the future of our beloved local Jewish organizations.

Stand up to Prejudice & Bigotry…March with us on Oct. 8th!
We know there are those in the community who want to help make a positive difference in our community following the despicable demonstration of hate on full display in Charlottesville, Virginia. While there are times when a one-time vigil or rally may provide a “sense of community” in the aftermath of a tragedy, the JCRC and our Raab/Goodwin Holocaust Education Center believe strongly not only in words but in action. That is why for the past 18 years, we have dedicated a significant portion of our budget to support our Holocaust Education programs that teach about the effects of prejudice, bigotry and hatred and why we must all be “upstanders and not bystanders” each and every day.
Join us as our community comes together at our
5th annual March of Remembrance
, our single largest educational fundraiser, to support the work of our Raab/Goodwin Holocaust Education Center which is set for Sunday, October 8th at 9:00am.
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE to literally “walk the walk and talk the talk” as hundreds of us participate in this community gathering to stand up against the intolerance and hate.
PLEASE register
to take part in this special program or at the very least take a moment to
make a gift
to support our continuing efforts in the years ahead.
