Come just to listen or to dance to the blue grass and old time musicians who play every Tuesday and Saturday beginning at 7pm. Admission is $5 on Tuesday and $6 on Saturday. Line Dancing classes are also offered on Monday nights beginning at 6pm. The Jubilee is located on North Main Street, across from the Courthouse.

Barns and other buildings around the county display squares illustrating quilt patterns and add interest to a driving tour of the countryside. Drop by Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center for a brochure. We are in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.
Brochures for three driving loops of the Alleghany country-side are available at the Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center. Each loop is about a leisurely hour's drive and includes information on historic points along the way. The Chamber office is in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Be sure to visit when planning a trip this Spring or Summer. Open Thursday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm. There's never an admission charge. Stop by to experience local history and to see the new displays, 7 North Main Street, Sparta.
Veterans' Morning Coffee & Breakfast
at the VFW
The VFW hosts an informal full breakfast including, biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, and coffee every Wednesday from 8:30-11am. All veterans are invited to attend.

Angel Tree at the Alleghany County Library
The Alleghany County Library will sponsor its annual Angel Tree for community adults
in need. The tree will be on display beginning mid-November with angels available for adoption beginning Monday, November 14.
