COUNTY ANNOUNCES TWO UPCOMING ROAD CLOSURES

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (August 18, 2017) - The Washington County Division of Engineering has announced the closures of Trego Mountain Road and Garis Shop Road effective Monday, August 21, 2017.

Trego Mountain Road

Trego Mountain Road will close to through traffic for approximately 20-days for a culvert replacement. The road closure is for the north culvert. The south culvert replacement will occur at a later date.

A detour is in place to route traffic around the construction zone.

Garis Shop Road

Effective 10 a.m., Garis Shop Road will close to through traffic at the bridge over Antietam Creek. The bridge rehabilitation project, which includes the repair of the existing stone arch bridge as well as minor roadwork, has a scheduled completion date of February 2018.

A detour is in place to route traffic around the construction zone.
