It's a Celebration!
Habitat Celebrates the Eco Village

On Saturday October 8th, about 100 people gathered at the Eco Village to celebrate its completion! The weather was great, the food delicious, and the people abundant. The tools were put down, and instead of working at the site, the fruits of many laborers were enjoyed. A majority of the homeowners were present, and three shared their stories with the crowd. In addition, representatives from Anderson Windows, Extreme Panels, SCVH Board President Joel Skinner, and SCVH Associate Director addressed the crowd sharing stories and experiences.

"It was really nice for people to come and see the completion," said Dave Engstrom, SCVH Executive Director. "And the homeowners were so thankful to the volunteers for building their homes." The Eco Village is truly a testament to the dedication of the St. Croix Valley community to provide affordable and sustainable housing. Countless hours of service have been provided by volunteers, many dollars have been faithfully given by our donors, and unending gratitude is being returned from our homeowners to all those who made this project possible.

St. Croix Valley Habitat  Celebrates  20 Years of Service

We are celebrating our 20th year as a Habitat for Humanity affiliate in the St. Croix Valley - Wisconsin. No, unfortunately we are not in the Caribbean! We have been very fortunate to have helped build 66 homes for deserving families, serving over 100 adults and over 200 children. We have also helped a number of families with A Brush With Kindness (ABWK) and Thrivent Builds Repairs. Please help us in our mission to serve more families who need safe, efficient and affordable housing. You can donate using Paypal or by contacting our office at 715-425-5623. It would be greatly appreciated!
What's New?
Welcome to the Team

Tiffany Franck is the new AmeriCorps VISTA here at the St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity. She comes to you from the land of chocolate, steel, and the liberty bell--or as most people simply call it, Pennsylvania. Tiffany has a BA in Sociology (Waynesburg University, PA) and she anticipates receiving her MA in International Development in May 2017 (Eastern University, PA).

Over the past two years, Tiffany has been fortunate to call Houston, TX; Cape Town, South Africa; Ephrata and Philadelphia, PA home. She is excited to add the St. Croix Valley to that list for the next year!

Tiffany comes to Habitat with a background in studying a variety of topics ranging from early childhood education to social psychology to community development, a passion to see people treated with kindness and love, and a desire to see communities working together to transform this world into an even better place for all.

In her free time, Tiffany loves to hike and explore new outdoor areas, visit coffee shops, listen to new tunes on Spotify, connect with friends and family, and enjoy time with her roommate's affectionate cats.
Thrivent Builds Repairs Projects

We are excited to have received a Thrivent Builds Repairs grant to help 2 local River Falls families. Both needed roof repairs and other minor exterior repairs. We have had many dedicated volunteers helping out, and there is still some more work to finish up the projects. If you are interested in volunteering, please give us a call! If you are a homeowner in Pierce or St. Croix County and need help with exterior repairs, give us call for an application.
ReStore News - We're Merging!

The River Falls ReStore will be consolidating with our new Roberts ReStore in the next few months. We are still open in River Falls at 109 W. Cedar Street for the public to get some great buys, but we will not be accepting donations in River Falls. Stop by and see what you can find!

The Roberts ReStore is located at 801 Wagner Drive, just about a mile north of I94 on Highway 65 (Exit 10). Stop in, the store is full of great items -- furniture, construction supplies, and all sorts of miscellaneous items. You will be surprised each time you go there! You can contact the Roberts ReStore at 715-760-3456.

The income produced from sales of donated goods at our affiliate ReStores is key to St. Croix Valley Habitat's mission to provide safe and affordable housing opportunities to those in need.
Looking Forward
St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity is planning on building 2-3 new homes in New Richmond in 2017. We will also be accepting applications for A Brush With Kindness (ABWK) for exterior repairs for those who own a home in Pierce and St. Croix Counties.
Thank You!

Many thanks to the corporate partners who have donated construction supplies and labor, and to the individual donors and foundations who have donated needed funds to continue our mission. Especially many thanks to the volunteers who have donated many, many hours to help build houses and also helping at our ReStores. THANK YOU!
