Welcome
Welcome to the 2016 fall edition of The WasteLine, a publication of the Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District. This edition includes articles on:
Our 15-year Solid Waste Management Plan
Residential recycling for the first half of 2016
Colerain, Springfield, and Ross Townships dramatically increase recycling
Hosting a composting seminar in your community
District launches household hazardous waste reduction campaign
The District’s popular Yard Trimmings Drop-Off program continues through November 27, 2016. Residents can drop off brush, leaves, and other yard trimmings at three locations throughout the county on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is free of charge.
We will not be holding a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) drop-off event in 2016. Instead, we have partnered with several other county organizations to conduct a campaign informing residents of alternative outlets for common HHW items (such as CFLs and motor oil) and encouraging a reduction in HHW. Please promote TAKEBackYourHome.org on your website and in your newsletters.
Thank you for your continued support of recycling in your community and for promoting our programs to your residents. As always, feel free to contact me at 946-7789 with any questions or suggestions to improve our programs.
Sincerely,
Michelle Balz
Assistant Solid Waste Manager
