ANNUAL FURNITURE GIVE AWAY

Be God's ambassador to the world's future leaders through the international student ministry of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at CWRU and CSU.  

In order to live our call to welcome the stran ger, we are hosting the annual International Student Furniture Giveaway Event on Saturday, August 19 in the Great Hall.  We still need volunteer drivers to pick up students from CSU and CWRU campuses the morning of August 19.  Contact Bok Chew at  [email protected]  or call 216-371-3114.

VOLUNTEER IN MISSION

Learn more about how Volunteer In Missions keeps us motivated to serve locally, nationally and globally because of God's love for us and the world.  

On   Saturday, August 26 , United Methodist Volunteer In Mission 3C's Partnership Meeting  will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Area Center located at 8800 Cleveland Avenue, North Canton, OH 44720. If you are considering Volunteer In Mission work, please join us.

ABINGTON ARMS

The next opportunity to participate in the Abington Arms ministry is  Wednesday, August 23rd. 


Ways YOU can help: 
 
●  Cook/bake - from easy recipes provided in advance; self-select entree,       salad, or dessert. 
●  Provide food donations.
●  Serve - 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Abington Arms
●  Provide consumables (dinner plates, salad plantes, bowls etc.)

THEOLOGY IN FILM:  NEW DAY & TIME 

Theology in Film will now be meeting on the third Sunday of each month at 2 p.m. in room 122.  Come and join us as we meet for the first time this fall on Sunday, September 17.  

KIDS CLUB & YOUTH GROUPS KICK OFF IN SEPTEMBER



September brings the return of Kids Club and Youth Group events at Church of the Saviour for school aged children beginning with those entering 3 rd grade.  Come join the fun!
  • Kid's Club (Grades 3 through 5) will meet monthly beginning Friday, September 15 with a scavenger hunt.  We will meet in the Great Hall. 
  • Jr. Youth (Grades 6 through 8) will meet weekly beginning Friday, September 8 from 7 to 9 p.m.
  • Sr. Youth (Grades 9 through 12) will meet weekly beginning Friday, September 8 from 7 to 11 p.m.

PLAYGROUND BRUNCH

The Children's Ministries Team invites everyone, and especially families with young children, to join us on the rooftop playground on  Sunday, September 17 during the time between the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. services. 

Kids can run and play while adults enjoy coffee, treats and conversation.

KAIROS

Five men from Church of the Saviour are going to Prison and YOU can help them get there!

Brian Broadbent, Tom Wadsworth, Eric Lewis, Evan Leonard, and Pete Evangelista are answering a call to participate in Kairos, a weekend event that aims to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.  The weekend is Sept 14 - 17 at Trumbull Correctional Institution. You can partner in this ministry with:
 
  • Prayer! All prayer is appreciated, but we would love to get you into a 30-min slot on the continuous prayer vigil schedule (scroll down to Trumbull)

 

  • Cookies!  Between the 5 of them, this team needs to collect 500 dozen cookies by Sept 6th.  Every batch helps! Specific instructions are available, but each dozen needs to be placed in a 1-quart zip-lock bag

 

  • Posters and placemats!  Decorated posters and placemats with encouraging words/images

UPWARD 2016-2017 SEASON

Planning for our new season of Upward is well under way.  Registration for youth will open on  September 5th  but you don't need to wait to to get involved with this dynamic ministry.
