Community Survey
Hundreds of MPCSD parents still have yet to complete their community survey. Are you one of them?  We have extended the deadline to respond to December 9. Panorama will be sending a second mailing to all registered voters and emails to parents reminding them to complete the survey.

As a reminder, in partnership with Panorama Education, the leading K-12 survey and data analytics company, all 16,000+ registered voters within the Menlo Park City School District boundaries and all parents received an invitation to participate in our first-ever community-wide online survey. Aligned to our Strategic Directions, we prioritize community input and engagement, as well as building a feedback-rich culture. The Community Survey will become an annual event as MPCSD pursues goals designed around the needs and desires of our students, staff, parents, and community. Help us get the word out. Remind your neighbors to complete their surveys. We want to hear from YOU. Questions? Contact [email protected].

Reductions and Parcel Tax Update
The numbers at a glance...
  • 2 months of discussion.
  • No less than 12 articles published in local papers.
  • 350+ attendees to 3 Board meetings and 3 public input sessions.
  • 469 online input forms submitted and read.
  • 60+ speakers during public comment.
  • 18,000 MPCSD residents invited to complete community survey.
  • 1000's of hours of staff and volunteer time.
On November 9, the MPCSD Board took into consideration all the input they have sought and received and thoughtfully debated the direction the district will take regarding how to address the district's structural deficit. The Board directed the staff to work with our strategy consultants to draft a parcel tax measure to be presented to the public in March 2017. While not a final decision, the parcel tax draft will be designed to offset the reductions closest to the student experience and maintain financial solvency in the midterm.

The following meetings have been scheduled to further discuss the drafts and make a decision. The public is asked to attend.
  • Thursday, November 17, 7:00 p.m. Hillview Middle PAC
  • Wednesday, November 30, 6:00 p.m. Hillview Middle PAC
  • Monday, December 5, 6:00 p.m. Hillview Middle PAC
We have added a great resource on our website Structural Deficit FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions). The FAQ's will be refreshed often. Please visit our website for answers to your questions. Should you not find the answer for which you are looking, please email [email protected]
