Saturday Sisters - August 19
Saturday Sisters on August 19 has been postponed to allow attendance at Harry Johnson's memorial service.  We'll let you know when the Sisters reschedule.

More Than A Meal

More Than A Meal provides a hot meal for the homeless and hungry, as well as the dignity of table service, fellowship, and a break from the invisibility that many of the guests live.  Dave and Susie Carlson are coordinating the meal for Sunday August 20th at Grace-St. Luke's at 1720 Peabody Ave.  If you'd like to volunteer to serve, please arrive by 3pm.

Condolences

We pray for the Johnson family on the death of long time St. Luke member, Harry Johnson on August 15.  A memorial service will be held at St. Luke on Saturday, August 19 at 11 am.  Visitation will be prior to the service at 10 am. We'll share a meal in the CFC after the service.  If you'd like to bring sides or dessert, please drop them off in the CFC between 10 & 11 am.

May God comfort Jane and her sons, Kyle and Eric in this time of grief.

Creative Aging Senior Arts Series

"Creative Aging Senior Arts Series", Lohrey Stage at Theatre Memphis

The Senior Arts Series performance features local theatre star Gary Beard and Creative Aging musicians, The Side Street Steppers.  Gary will entertain and enthrall the audience with his outstanding musical prowess and engaging personality.  The show will include well-known classics and Broadway show tunes, as well as a few surprise solos.  You will not want to miss our very own Memphis "Mr. Showman"!  The Side Street Steppers are a page from the 1920's and 30's, dubbed the Golden Age of Gramophone Recording.  The Side Street Steppers present a collection of songs that reflect the transformation of the American musical landscape performing on vintage and homemade instruments.

Get ready for plenty of hip-shaking, foot stompin' caterwauling and croonin'!

Join Creative Aging for a delightful afternoon on Wednesday, August 23rd at 1:00 pm at Theatre Memphis (630 Perkins Extended).

LEGACY CAMPAIGN
Pledge cards are in the Narthex and will soon be on line.  On line "Simply Giving" is being updated with the addition of a Capital Campaign line.  
You can e-mail your pledge to p a[email protected]; use Simply Giving; or complete a pledge card and put it in an envelope marked "Legacy Campaign" and place it in the collection or in the office.  Let's show our littlest Saints that we want St. Luke to be there for them in the future.     

God's Work Our Hands Sign Ups

September 10th is quickly approaching!  Sign up Sunday for the activity that you'd like to participate in.  On that day we'll meet at 9am for a short commissioning service, then head out to our projects.  A churchwide picnic will follow at noon in the Pavilion!
 
Habitat for Humanity

Our fall Habitat for Humanity Build dates will be Saturday, Sept. 16 and Oct. 7.  Work day is 7:30am-1pm.  Sign up sheets will be available Sunday, and
maps will be available soon.  St. Luke members and friends are invited to help build.
 

Food Pantry

 We are running low on the essentials such as cereal, canned vegetables, meats, and fruit.  Please give as the Lord leads you.  Thank you!

Director of Music Staff Position

Mutual Ministry and the Worship Committee are working to identify  and interview a prospective Music Director.  If you have any suggestions please contact Debi Erickson, John Behrends, Bev McGhee, Gary Conway, or Past or Cliff.
Fantasy Football Draft

St. Luke Lutheran Church Annual Fantasy Football Will Begin With The Draft    Saturday August 26th.

We Will Have A Tailgate Draft Party In The Nave, So Everyone Bring Your Favorite Tailgate Dish To Share.  If You Can't Make The Party, DO NOT WORRY!!!!  You Can Draft From The Comforts Of Your Own Home.
