In 1974, I enjoyed learning about physical fitness and wellness from an instructor at Richland College named Bill Neal. The last time I visited him, in 2014, Bill was STILL teaching the same things and STILL healthy. His biggest advice to me in 1974 is to take on an activity pattern and stay with it. Our bodies, by design, adapt to patterns.
Many people cycle through the spring, summer and fall only to quit cycling in the winter months. With their lower levels of activity, they tend to lose the fitness levels that they built up while cycling. Then, come spring time, they have to rebuild their fitness.
16 years ago, we launched a winter program that offered a compromise. A way to reduce your time in the saddle and retain a good level of fitness. That way, you can enter the spring cycling season with a fitness level that will allow you to enjoy your rides. Come try one of our indoor cycling sessions at no charge and see why many of our clients have been cycling with us for over 10 years.
There are 2 holiday rides coming up. The Turkey Roll in Denton and the Happy New Rear Ride in Blue Ridge. Check out the details below.
Add a little safety tip and you've got our newsletter of the week. Ride on!
