Job offer - North African and French literature - Bowdoin College

The Department of Romance Languages at Bowdoin College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in French beginning in fall 2015 at the assistant professor level. The Department seeks a candidate well-versed in both hexagonal and North African literature and culture of the 19th and/or 20th/21st centuries. Interest in cinema and/or media studies welcomed. Promise of ongoing scholarly engagement and proven success in teaching are expected. The normal teaching expectation is four courses per year, which will include language courses and upper-level seminars in the candidate's field of specialty.Candidates must have native or near-native fluency in French. Ph.D. expected upon beginning appointment.
