Pleasantdale Elementary Food Drive 2016

Who: Students and Staff of Pleasantdale Elementary School

What: A food drive to help support the Greater Chicago Food

Depository

When: November 14th-18th

Where: Food can be placed in marked boxes around the school

**Please bring in any non-perishable items during the week of November 14th-November 18th. Most needed items include pean ut butter, jelly, diapers, canned fruit, canned beans, and dried pinto b eans. However, all non-perishable items are appreciated! For every item donated, students will be able to place a feather on our Pleasantdale turkey.

Picture Retakes

November 16th is picture retake day!

Students who were absent on picture day can come in on Wednesday, November 16th between 8:15 and 8:45 AM to have their picture taken. Students who would like their pictures retaken must bring in their picture packet on retake day.

Math Club

The first session of Math Club for grades 1st through 4th will conclude on Nov. 17th. The second session will begin on January 24th. Information and sign up sheets will be available in January.

1584 Days. What is so special about that number? For a child who begins their educational career in Pleasantdale at kindergarten, remaining with us through eighth grade graduation, 1584 days is the number of school days they will be with us.

Veterans Day Presentation on Nov. 8th

Thank you to Vietnam Veteran Jim Zwit for sharing his veteran's experience with our 8th graders. Having speakers share their experiences is the best type of history lesson we can provide our students. Thank you for your service!

Parent Teacher Conferences Scheduling Open

Parent Teacher Conferences will take place on November 21 and November 22 from 1-8 pm. Parents are able to schedule conferences until Wednesday, November 16 at 4 pm. Parents are asked to schedule their conferences through Skyward. Please watch a quick video with instructions by clicking here.

To help families that may be out of town or with other commitments, we welcome the opportunity to schedule a phone conference during these conferences times or at another time. Please contact your child's teacher to schedule a phone conference.

If you have difficulty with the scheduling program or with your internet access, please call one of the elementary school secretaries (708-246-4700) or middle school secretaries (708-246-3210).

PTA News

Spirit Wear Order Forms Due Soon

Pleasantdale offers Spirit Wear to students, parents and staff as a fundraiser. Please enclose order form and a check made payable to "Pleasantdale PTA" in an envelope marked "Pleasantdale Spirit Wear" and return to the main office by Friday, November 18. Delivery will be on or before December 21. Click here for order form.
