Schools Around the District Observe Veterans Day |
Schools around the district observed Veterans Day in a number ways over the last week and will continue today, whether through special assemblies, activities or classroom speakers.
At top, Mr. Scott Seyler (father to Cochran third-grade student Franciska Seyler) spoke to Ms. Liz Sauer's class on Nov. 10 about his experience in the U.S. Army from 1983-88 in honor of Veteran's Day.
Above, seventh-grade students at Williamsport Area Middle School watched the performance of Letters Home, of the Chicago-based Griffin Theatre, on Nov. 3, which brought to life actual letters written by soldiers in combat to family members from Iraq and Afghanistan. "Letters Home" was presented and funded by the West Branch Arts Consortium. The group also performed at Loyalsock Township, Milton, Warrior Run and Selinsgrove.
