whether you are a ski/riding bum or the sort of person who would rather curl up near the fire place with a glass of wine and great conversation, MJE’s annual winter retreat has fun options for everyone making it our most popular trip of the year!
Here’s a sample of our itinerary from last year:
Thursday: Our private bus picks us up at 6:00 pm in front of MJE and we are whisked away to snowy Vermont . Upon arrival, we check into the Grey Ghost Inn which has been reserved entirely for us.
Friday Day: Start the day with a big, Vermont Style breakfast (pancakes, waffles, hot chocolate and more) and then head out to Mt. Snow where we'll hit the slopes! From beginner classes to black diamonds, there's a little something for everyone. Last year, those who didn’t want to ski/ride went snow tubing. Others chilled at the bed and breakfast and enjoyed having the whole, cozy place to themselves!
Friday Night: Greet the Shabbat with beautiful singing and a scrumptious meal prepared by our very own chef. After dinner kick back with a glass of wine and shmooze it up. We have a large candy bar and some people stayed up until 2 am laughing, chatting, playing board games etc.
Shabbat Day is a pleasantly mixed bag of activities: Hearty meals, uplifting services, seminar options, winter hiking options, and of course sleeping in are all on the menu.
After Shabbat: We hit the town! In the past we’ve rented out an entire snow tubing location and then went to a sports bar with live music and fun VT atmosphere. Nothing like making a toast with your new friends in ski pants and sweatshirts. Or go pantless and keep things interesting.
Sunday: It's back to the slopes for our second day of skiing. Last year, a bunch of people opted to go snowmobiling while others booked massages. We finish the trip with a delicious lake lunch and closing ceremony. Head home around 5 pm for return to NYC around 9:00 pm
